Who knew? Kickapoo, LA is a little bump in the road in DeSoto Parish not far from where I lived growing up.

The food tastes the same.
It was a fun place to work. I worked there WAY back in high school and Tech 67 -72 and DogSince65 worked there too. I'd be off for Tech games and had to hurry over to work the after game rush. Still got a few good friends I worked with there back then.

What about the Magic Grill otherwise known as the 'gic because the light behind the "ma" was out. Anybody have a tab there?

Is this the place that opened in the spring of 1966? At first the place I am remembering had prices similar to McDonald's. There was no McD's in Ruston then.

. Worked with Vince T who later owned and opened Stowes. Just a bunch of kids trying to work our way thru college-- about $1 hour. To this day I have great memories of Griffs and more importantly-- whenever I go into fast food place I treat workers with respect. Same with restaurants, you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat waiters ... Etc

Every American male should be required to serve two years in the military and one summer in the drive thru of a fast food restaurant.

. Rouge -- the day we terminated 2 yr service to country as passage into manhood is day gangbangers took there place. Smotherlove ( mothers smothers with love) mean well but not discipline many youngsters need. I understand reasons draft was terminated, kids dying in war run by politicians ... Agree with post. HIJACK going to new levels

I believe it was, def before McD. Learned so much there of lifelong value, honestly used a lot of it as Bossier library director for 28 yrs, made wonderful friends and hanging out buddies with Grambling co-workers. Good times. And Houston, you've got that standing invite to be my guest at a couple of men's basketball games too. We can get a couple of others and have an If you want a thread to die" reunion.:)

Would have gladly served is needed. Probably would have helped me mature earlier than I did. Was never a problem kid, but admittedly should have grown up more quickly. Never worked in fast food industry, but did work at a local business in Ruston while in school. Learned to work hard there. Definitely appreciate food service employees who bust their butts for customers.i have encountered several lately who go way above what is required and I let them know every time to keep I up and fast food job won't be needed much longer because of bigger and better opportunities.
