Voting ends May 30th, but the file on Google drive doesn't exist as of May 24th.
"Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist."

Correct. The thread began last year for Top 50 in Tech history. I bumped it to add players who played in JAS from the opposition. As i said, it's the summer.

Not me. I'll take Dunigan and Rattay at QB, and overall Jerry Rice and Troy Edwards were men amongst boys.

I was too young to remember Dunigan & Rice.
Rattay & Edwards were awesome, but Culpepper dominated that game. Remember, this was the week after Nebraska and the records. We thought we had a great team (which we did). But Culpepper was a man amongst boys in that game.
We were 6-6 that year, but our losses were 4 Nebraska, UCF, 18 Texas A&M, Wyoming, Auburn & 11 Tulane.

Ah yes, 1998. Great offense, horrid defense. Our best win was at Toledo. And we clobbered a bunch of sunbelch dregs. The offense had 20+ "drives" of 60 yards or more in 60 seconds or less.

We should have never lost to Wyoming, and maybe Auburn that year, either. There's no excuse for losing to Wyoming ever, and Auburn finished 3-8 that season. The rest.....well, they were damn tough teams in 1998. TX A&M won the Big XII, Nebraska was in the Top 5 and Tulane had their best team E-V-E-R.
Re: Football. @LATechSports To Honor Top 50 Players in Joe Aillet Stadium History - l
I've updated the list in post #56. Culpepper, Rice, Stokely and others were added.
I also added Ray Guy, who would have punted in the 1971 game against USM. Guy entered the NFL HOF in 2014. New names also include longtime Seahawks All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner from Utah State and James Jones from San Jose State, who led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in 2012 for the Packers. LeShon Johnson was also added to the list. Although his NFL career was derailed by cancer, Johnson was 6th in voting for the Heisman Trophy in 1993.
It looks like the list of future NFL Hall of Famers who once played in the stadium includes Bradshaw, Dean, and Roaf for Tech. Guy, Favre, and Rice for the other guys. Mankins may get there someday, as he anchored the Patriots O line for almost a decade and went to 7 Pro Bowls. If Wagner keeps up his level of play in Seattle he'll get there someday as well. He's already a four-time All Pro selection.

Two bad goal line series against A&M cost us that game. Zero points.

Good thing we never had to deal with that again!

28-7 final. That game was played in the remnants of tropical storm Francis...we kept saying, "lighten up Francis" when the stronger gusts of wind would blow. The conditions hampered our high-octane offense some, but mostly it was the Aggie stiff defense causing problems.
Our TD was scored by Edwards, running the wildcat. Bad snap caused him to have reach back for the ball, but his athleticism allowed him to dance his way into the EZ anyway.

Did Joe Delaney ever play in Aillet? Probably was still at State Fair

State Fair Stadium only.
