Crummy said he wanted to change the culture at Tech. Well, Tech Football used to be known as a good, winning program, and now we absolutely suck. Mission accomplished Coach Crummy, you changed it.

We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no!

One thing for sure is that there can’t be a single person, not one, who thinks Cumbie is a competent coach and that Tech football is on steady ground and moving forward in improving. If there is please speak up. Even Holtz had his loyal believers, but like I said there’s no way Cumbie does. Essentially everything he’s done so far screams that he’s fumbling his way through this thing and can’t even get out of his own way from repeating the same sorts of mistakes every game. It really is quite amazing.
We want a Tech guy… We want a Tech guy!

I think we're better than we were last season. I don't think the door is closed on Cumbie having success at Tech. We're still really early in his time here.

I want what you are smoking.
Ain't no way we are better this year than last year. I don't see another win on the schedule even in the weak C-USA. We might beat Sam Houston to get to 4 wins, but that's it. So Coach doubled his win total from last year...big deal. Even if they were losing, they could at least show something positive. I am not seeing net positive anything. Just bland mediocre football. For Cumbie to have success he would actually have to coach. He hasn't proved he can do that yet. Every week is new excuses for his poor coaching. We want air raid, and Wood hired an "Air Raid" guy who is given us 1 yard buble screens in trip formations with receivers who can't block. We didn't get a QB even after a year of knowing we needed a QB. We didn't develop a QB even with a QB head coach. There is nothing Coach Cumbie has shown so far that even comes close to being competent about being a head coach.
Maybe Henderson will want "his guy" at AD which means we might be able to clean house in our athletic departments.

I'm not getting to see many games so I can't really comment on how he's coaching, but the guy ran one of the most successful offenses of all time at TCU. Did he forget how to coach or is he just working with too weak of a crop of talent left behind by Holtz.

We also have the worst stable of WRs that we’ve had in years. Oline is not much better. How many false starts did we have in the red zone last night? I know of at least 3. We can’t even get the basics right.

I had the thought during the WKU game (in the first half) that they just had better players than us. I know the portal is a thing now, but that isn't something that changes in your second year (we did sign the top class in CUSA last year I think, but that impact is years away).
I don't know that I feel that way overall about MTSU or UNT. But certainly Nebraska and SMU (as a whole).

We are just bad -
Top to bottom...
And nearly all points in between

Agreed! Cumbie can't coach. We are terrible, and there is no expectation of winning any other games this year. I don't know about him bringing in "his guy"- we don't need another guy to tell us "our place" that came from NW St or McNeese. We need someone with a clue of how to move forward. The first thing needed is fire Cumbie!

Re: Tuesday, October 10th, 6:00pm @ Middle Tennessee on CBSSN
We might as well practice crossing fingers and toes that things will improve. No way Tech will eat 4 years and $3.2 million of Cumbie’s contract.

Re: Tuesday, October 10th, 6:00pm @ Middle Tennessee on CBSSN
We won't ever recover from this. In typical Tech fashion, we picked the absolute worst possible time to crap the bed. We might manage to limp along and occasionally "enjoy" a 6-win season and go to some meaningless bowl game due to the level of competition we face, but we will never in my lifetime see another time like 2011-2016 or the Tim and Luke years. All the cards are stacked against us, from incompetent leadership, a clueless head coach, transfer portal, budget and NIL. If we manage to get a decent player, they will stay a year and transfer.

Re: Tuesday, October 10th, 6:00pm @ Middle Tennessee on CBSSN
As things stand now just ask yourself one question, why would a good athlete even choose to come to Tech. The answer is, they wouldn’t and that’s why we are where we are and why we’ll remain here.
Just like the original Lady Techsters and Dunkin' Dawgs once the bubble bursts it’s gone for good and it’s never coming back. In todays world when you give up your foothold anywhere someone is going to take your place and it’s over with for you.
