Re: Tech schedule features LSU, Ole Miss - Shreveport Times
we usually end up with the wac scheduling our most attractive home games (i.e. boise state in 2005) during thanksgiving break...at least we have a schedule this year that people, students especially, can attend. if we can beat central arkansas in game one and we can't attract 25,000 for hawaii, then shame on our fans. we can complain all we want about oakes and poor marketing (and i agree it has been poor), but show up!
Re: 2007 Football Schedule & Season Ticket Information
I'm guessing/hoping the NMSU game will be Homecoming and not Boise the next week!

We beat Hawaii last time they were in Ruston. To beat them or New Mexico St. this year, we'll need some HUGE improvements in our defensive backfield.

Come on Lax. It is in the Baton Rouge paper. What would you expect? Besides, how would they be able to have an ad for Tech gear when no one can get it anyway.
Re: Louisiana Tech, WAC release football schedules - 2TheAdvocate
Another terrible schedule with not enough home games and too many trips out west. I love the addition of Ole Miss, however, not enough was done to get us another home game or get out of the CAL trip.
I hope Coach Dooley creates enough disipline in his team to withstand yet another uphill battle to get into a bowl.

San Jose game on the first weekend of the Quarter break. I guess just one game is better than two of the quarter break, but no games would be the best (I am the master of the obvious).
Re: Louisiana Tech, WAC release football schedules - 2TheAdvocate
Oct. 27: at Utah State
Nov. 3: at Idaho
Nov. 10: at LSU
Too bad we couldn't have one of those two open dates the week before LSU.

We absolutely CRUSHED Hawaii (1-4 record) in 2005 (46-14) in Ruston and shut them out in the 2nd half of that game. Tech ran the ball for 327 yards to keep Hawaii's passing offense sidelined. Tech also passed for 150 yards in '05.
In 2006 we were completely manhandled on both sides of the line and rushed for just 135 yards. Hawaii's offense ripped us by a final score of 61-17. They were 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the WAC.
I think we can turn it around this year just like Hawaii (and San Jose, and Idaho, and...) did. Keeping the Hawaii offense on the sidelines is again the key in 2007. We should be able to do this with our new coach's confidence and winning attitude, improved defense, improved rushing game, and home field advantage.
