I'm not getting into the whole Hawaii vs. Tech deal here just saying that writer is lumping us in where he shouldn't. It was one year. Hawaii has a great team and you have a lot to be proud of but like I said in an earlier post Hawaii needs to worry about winning the games on it's schedule and let the chips fall where they may before they start whining about someone bringing down their SOS. Let's actually play a few games before we start bitching Hawaii fans. For now if you want to bitch, I've got someone you can bitch at ........your AD
If you don't count last year's horrible record, you are only 13 - 11 vs the WAC. That's not so great. What is a legit sample size anyway? Even if it were a proper sample size, wouldn't you normally throw out the top and bottom performers? I'm sorry, you young pups haven't been in the WAC...or D1A for that matter...long enough to brag about your game.
I for one hope La Tech curbs the descent into mediocrity. There are teams at the top of the WAC. There are teams in a slump. Some teams are ascending. La Tech is definately sinking.
BYU has a national championship. The BYU players and coaches are legendary. BYU was in a bowl game last year, and they won it. John Beck was a top draft pick last year.

Fire is hot. Water is wet. ULM is for students who couldn't get into Tech. All of these are facts. Along with Hawaii lost last time they came to Ruston. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer because I don't think Hawaii fans will be too happy after week 2.

Check your stats, Tech is 25-23 in conference since joining the WAC in 2001 including last year. W/O last year our record is 24-16. Speaking of conference record since joining the wac what is your Conference Record since ya'll joined the WAC way back in 1979?

2006 WAC 1-7 Notes: Your only WAC win was against Utah St OOC: NTexas & Nichols WTF?)
2005 WAC 7-3 Notes: Haw, NMSU, SJSU, Utah St, FresnoSt, BoiseSt & Idaho OOC: NTexas
2004 WAC 5-3 Notes: Nev, Fresno, SMU, Tulsa, & Rice. OOC: LA-Lafayette (WTF?)
2003 WAC 3-4 Notes: UTEP, Nev & SMU. OOC: LA-Lafayette & MSU.
2002 WAC 3-4 Notes: Tulsa, Nev, & UTEP. OOC: OSU.
2001 WAC 7-0 Notes: SJSU, SMU, Nev, Rice, Boise St., UTEP, & Tulsa. OOC: (WTF?)
Oh yes, you Techies are soooo dominant in the WAC...
So...Y'all regularly beat up on Louisiana-Lafayette & North Texas? Nice. I'm sorry SMU, Rice, & UTeP are no longer members of the WAC. Thank god for Utah St. or the Techies would have nothing to be thankful for in 2006. Both you bottom feeders gave us 40+ points.

3. They can post a 50% win/loss record, and then win a bowl game.
1. gee whiz, how thick-headed can you be? tech went 1-7 in the wac last year. if we won more of our conference games, doesn't that mean somebody in the wac has to lose those games? if tech wins more, someone else is going to be the bottom-feeder! that is, unless, we're all mediocre and finished 4-4 in conference. would you rather have a true top and bottom or all mediocre?
2. when is the last time hawaii won all of it's non-conference games? boise did it last year, but that's on rare occasions. if i'm correct -- and lord knows, i've been wrong before -- tech went 3-10 overall and 1-7 in the wac. that means we went 2-3 out of conference. the games we lost were at nebraska, at texas a&m and at clemson. we beat nicholls state and north texas, a 1-aa and sun belt team. given the way hawaii has historically played off the island, i'm pretty sure a "normal" hawaii team would have gone 2-3 with that ooc schedule.
3. the wac has three bowl tie-ins. we have 9 teams. take out the bottom three and that leaves 6 teams. now even if, by some fluke, all six of those qualified for bowl games, they wouldn't all have a place to go. and that's not counting the bottom three that you're telling to go .500 and win a bowl game! come on, genius, think!

That logic is too much for him considering all Hawaii has to do to play in a bowl is finish the season eligible. They are given the first choice of whether they want to play in the Hawaii bowl or not.

Re: Weaklings weigh down WAC
Oh and you didn't answer my question! Why don't you answer my question? What is the overall record since UH has been in the WAC? I am not being sarcastic. I am just curious. I can't seem to find old schedules past 2002. If it is too embarrasing don't answer my question, I would not want you to feel uncomfortable or anything while you are visiting our site.

I don't know why I asked you that question, you seem to have a problem counting wins and losses!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

What does that have to do with anything I posted.
Here is my point:
Maybe you weren't a fan back then but only a few years ago ('01) BYU was undefeated, 12-0, and was bitching about probably not going to the BCS bowl that they deserved. They were blaming their poor SOS on all of the teams they played and then on the last game of the year they traveled to Hawaii and y'all kicked the crap out of them REAL BAD. And thats my point. Don't bitch about other teams bringing you down until you handle up on your own business or you end up looking as stupid as BYU did. The national media had a field day.
Agin: Don't bitch about other schools bringing you down until you beat the teams on your schedule. When BYU came in you hung 70 on them. Make sure that doesn't happen to you before you start whining. :bigcry: Right now you are 0-0 and you haven't won anything yet.
Re: Weaklings weigh down WAC
Sundayjam,
I can't believe you are ripping on our OOC schedule. WOW! Look in the mirror.
