If it's wrong, whoever started the thread we bear most the fallout - but unfortunately stuff like this is part of the coaching profession -
BTW - I thought it would be Petey first - I don't think its a secret that Dooley wants his OWN staff and I'm not sure that Coach Jackson was totally comfortable (profane language that's part of every conversation, etc) with some of the things that are part of the everyday life of this staff...
Let's not OVER MODERATE -
I figured it would be Conroy.

I just think Conroy is invaluable right now keeping these kids on track in the classroom - which he does a fabulous job in doing...
Re: Ed Jackson is gone...
Scelfo was running RR's offense. It lost something in translation after RR went to WVU. What we ran for an offense last year sucked. Film of the Nevada and Ole Miss games could be used o convince people not to come to that system. I will hold my judgement on all this because it isn't really important. I would feel better if I thought he wasnted to stay 20 years and not 3.

I'm still going to cut him some slack, first year w/ players, below average QB, not a real playmaker WR, etc . . . I will be a little more critical this year.

Re: Ed Jackson is gone...
It will be difficult to replace Jackson, especially as a recruiter.

He's probably our worst recruiter.

That is an assinine thing to say.
He will be missed more as a man of character than anything else. I am a little shocked about this whole turn, but it happens and happens often.

Rarely have we been more noncompetitive than in the Nevada game. There was a bowl game there for the winning and the team was as badly prepared (logistics, game plan and health) as I can remember. When you lose your depth at practice, you need to learn from it.

I was talking about Conroy. I can send you a PM to back up my statement if you want me to. We will sorely miss Ed Jackson. This does not make sense at all. It sickens me that we are losing Ed Jackson and I'm sure there are a lot of players that will miss him. This is the worst thing I have heard about Tech football in a long time. He'll probably go somewhere close by and kick our ass in recruiting. He won't have a problem finding a job.
Re: Ed Jackson is gone...
Letting Ed go was a big mistake unless he can start winning but you need a quality QB to win and Dooley has no one near that discription at QB.

There has GOT TO BE more tot he story than this. Again, I will support Dooley, but surely he couldn't have been that bad of a DL coach. I wonder if he was tired of working the 16 hour days unlike Bicknell or Crowton required.
