Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
Didn't include the testing rate since apparently it's different than what I calculate. Might do it once a week just to show the trend.
Appears we had nearly 1,000 new cases over night. There was an article on a local news blog saying the increase in cases this past week rivaled the worst weeks back in March. Not good...

I believe LDH uses the rate based over a number of days, not the grand total rate. And the 1,666 case reduction probably hasn't been included since those were not new cases and were not tied to specific dates.
Totals on June 25--53,415 cases out of 660,665 tests, 8.09% rate
Totals on June 19--48,515 cases out of 590,909 tests, 8.21% rate (used this date since June 17-18 totals were before the net case drop was included)
Last 6 days--4,900 cases out of 69,756 tests, 7.02% rate
Last day--938 new cases out of 12,160 tests, 7.71% rate
The CDC also reports that actual cases may be 10 times higher than reported. If that is true, the actual U.S. death rate would be around 0.5%.

Yeah but if we start counting asymptomatic people in disease death rates, all comparative death rates go down, too. An apples to oranges comparison.
It also means the transmission rate for COVID is way higher.

If only people would wear those face coverings. All would be fine now.
Things are great for the haters...continued violence from their robot idiots and more people potentially dying from the China Virus.

Yep, if we mandated face masks sooner our results would be more similar to countries that did.

Serious question and please stop and ponder it before answering.... How do you enforce any mandatory mask law? What happens if some big dude shows up at a Walmart or some other public place w/o a mask and refuses to put one on?
I suppose, to kind of answer my own question, the "gate keeper" at the establishment could ask nicely several times, "pretty please..." And then what? Try to physically block the non-complier from entering? That won't end well. Oh! call the police! But, OMG! all you libs don't want anything to do with the police and, another OMG! what happens if the non-masker is black and the cops responding are white? We have a libtard conundrum! What prevails...the mandatory mask thingy or the white cops backing off the black dude and allowing him to proceed in w/o a mask?
Okay...I did get off on a slight tangent there, so back to the original question, how could a mandatory mask law be enforced?

What do you do when someone shows up without pants? Costco has been managing just fine with their mask rule.
Houston was never arresting people for not wearing masks. They just had officers give masks to people that were not compliant.
Originally the city and county put the obligation on people to comply and Abbott overruled them. Faced with a runaway pandemic within the state, Abbott gave them the green light to mandate businesses but not people. Really, Abbott’s allowance puts businesses in worse position than if the mandate directly applied to people, but he has been a terrible leader in this.

You can’t keep your liberal lies straight. You are ignoring all the growth in Liberal havens but proclaiming masks as the solution in countries with 10% of the population of Dallas County. You lack reasoning skills.

You are very confused. Taiwan has nearly 24 million people.

Sorry, I didn’t consider what a world leader you considered countries like Taiwan to be. They are a great model
