Republican governors are proving their incompetence now.
Trump’s incompetence put all the states in a very tough position, though.

Here in Texas, we did stupid things like a rushed reopening, opened the bars, undermined local mask requirements. All of these things, led by our bonehead Governor, have helped coronavirus spread like wildfire in Texas.
In addition to reopening before any of the CDC guidelines were in place, Texas also bungled the rollout of an adequate contact tracing program - a critical part of any successful reopening strategy.

It just seems like Republicans are having an extra hard time understanding how this disease is spread and how it is contained. Understandable if they are watching FoxNews.
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
And what stops individuals from wearing masks and/or taking precautions? Nada. And BULLSHIT on the notion a governor can undermine local ordinances. DOUBLE BULLSHIT!!! A city, a county, can pass laws that pertain to their jurisdictions as long as they do not violate the state or US Constitution. Period.
That brown ooze flowing from your ears Goosey is getting on your shoes now...

Local ordinance would have violated the Governor’s executive order.
Given that nothing stops people from wearing masks, why isn’t everyone doing it?
The problem is that masks aren’t about mitigating personal risk. They are about protecting the community. Many people won’t make this simple sacrifice for others. Mask adoption has also been undermined by right wing politicization of masks. That should have never happened. Would have gone along way to help if Trump would wear one and not criticize Biden for doing so.

According to you, in Texas, everyone isn't doing it because it violates the governor's executive order.

If everyone would do it on their own, we wouldn’t need a mandate.

Supply availability is still a problem.

Considering the supposed positives of wearing them, they should be free. Too much money to be made I reckon.

Shreveport was giving out 5 free reusable masks when this whole thing got started. Not sure if they are still, but they were free at one point.

For masks? Really? They are everywhere in Natchitoches. Maybe because people around here refuse to take one! Hah! Okay, seriously, every public building, like the courthouse, has stacks of 'em. The local Walmart, Walgreens, and other stores are selling them like a 10-pack or something for very little, $2 maybe. And they have pallets of 'em!
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
TX Gov finally did the right thing and shut the bars down, effective at noon today. Also ordering restaurants back to 50%.

Louisianians who don't want to go backwards need to pay attention to Texas. If you want the economy to recover, adhere to mitigation protocols. A lot of getting COVID to own the libs going on in Texas.

New Stay at Home order being issued for Harris County right now.
