Re: Presidential Election 2020
There is no dissent at all allowed in the democratic party.. They claim to have a big tent, "room for everyone". well like everything else.. that's not true.. Michigan state democratic official who was diagnosed with Covid-19.. thanked Trump for his response to Michigan's Covid-19 issues, and said it literally saved her life..
Now she is facing censure from democrats in her state for saying "thank you" to POTUS.
Re: Presidential Election 2020
Is the DNC and the state of NY trying to stop Biden’s nomination? Love it! What a screwed up party!
Analysis: Did NY Democrats just tank Biden's nomination?
Washington, D.C. Newsroom, Apr 27, 2020 / 02:35 pm MT (CNA).- On Monday, officials in New York announced the cancellation of the state’s Democratic presidential primary, calling the event “essentially a beauty contest,” and a risk to public health in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
While New York Democrats cited the inevitability of Joe Biden’s nomination for the party's candidacy as justification for calling off the primary, it could actually make the former VP's spot on the ticket anything but a forgone conclusion.
Biden is the prohibitive favorite for the nomination to face Donald Trump in November. But New York could be the first step in an unlikely path to a contested Democratic convention between two Catholic politicians with national profiles.
Although Bernie Sanders is officially out of the race, Biden does not yet have an overall majority of convention delegates. As of April 27, the former vice president has 1,305 of the 1,991 delegates needed to clinch a first-round coronation at the party’s convention. New York offered 320 delegates up for grabs, 274 pledged to the primary winner; a prize that would have brought Biden closer to the nomination.
If New York’s decision triggers other states to cancel their own primaries, it is entirely possible that Biden could arrive at the Democratic convention without a guarantee of the nomination.

Speaking of socialism, I see Trump is now ordering meat packers to work against their will.
Re: Presidential Election 2020
So, during a completely unprecedented crisis, the only people allowed to eat meat are those who own a farm, can afford a $400 side of beef, or have deer meat stacked in the freezer? Are we to understand that you care not for the less fortunate or ill prepared? After the crisis is over, should Trump continue to attempt to force labor, then I will agree with you on this one, solitary point.

Taken at face value, which I am doing at the moment since I have not seen details of this order, I agree, that is socialism and I condemn it.

Having meat provided to you whenever you want it is a right? Can you not live without it (or even less of it) for a month or two? Is it even a necessity? Someone should tell the vegetarians. Lol

Government healthcare isn’t a right.

Ronald Reagan shouldn’t have made it one.

I’ll offer to carry any vegetarians casket when they die. None of their friends will be able to lift it.
Re: Presidential Election 2020
Hypothetical......
People who aren’t rolling in it can’t get meat and then they die by the 100’s of thousands of malnutrition. I thought we wanted Trump to think way ahead of any potential crisis and the through his omnipotence be able to stop it from happening. If people could die, you want Trump to stop it, right?

You don’t die or even suffer malnutrition by not eating meat for a couple of months. That is the flaw in your hypothetical.

I think you would be surprised to learn how many athletes are vegetarian.
Hell, some of the most elite are even vegan.

Re: Presidential Election 2020
Yep, invoked the DPA. I understand both sides of the argument. But I don't think this is the best way to rectify the situation.
I checked out of the current world for the most part the past 24 hrs, burying myself in historical research preparing a presentation I hope to deliver once all this mess is over. So, I have not been paying close attention to the news.
Back to the matter at hand. I don't think it is a good idea to allow the food supply chain to completely tank. Do any of you? No, seriously, is it okay for grocery stores to run out of meat? If you think so, then would it be okay to allow stores to run out of produce: fruits and vegetables? Breads? How about canned goods? So, while I understand his reasoning, I don't like the Federal government ordering private businesses/citizens. Every effort should have been expended to work WITH these companies and their employees to get them back to work.
Of course, all that said. We all know what would happen had Trump not done anything. Grocery stores would run low on food at first, and there would be fights in the aisles. Then rationing, then complete depletion. You think the fear of running out of toilet paper is bad, just wait to see the panic of "NO FOOD!" Then people would be dying in the streets! The lamestream media would show video clips of Venezuela while labeling it some American city. Goosey would be posting, "Orange Man Bad!" he should have seen this coming and invoked the DPA to stop this from happening. Biden would claim "I'd have 20 emergency food processing plants already set up and ready in every state!"
The beat goes on...
