They wouldn't be terminated. They simply would not have their contract renewed.

Assistants working without a contract might cause a problem in attracting good assistants and ultimately a head coach.

He is going to have to get to work to measure up to previous years. Currently we have 2 out of 15 that are 3 stars. The three recruiting classes under Sonny produced:

2010 - 9/21 (# of 3 stars/total signed)
2011 - 17/25
2012 - 8/19


Total 34/65


But as everyone knows, the stars do not really mean much at all. I consider the number of offers from AQ's to be a more important stat.

But in answer to your second question, after this season Holtz would have to start getting some 4 and 5 stars to somewhat hush the firing talk. Nope, it is going to take results on the field next year to quieten things down.

I am not sure many coaches have a contract like our head coach. He is getting a great 4 year guarantee deal here.

One could play golf every single day and still get paid like a boss.

Rivals is giving out much fewer 3 stars this year.

Rightfully so. About half of those 3 stars didn't work out for us.

Really? 1/2? Define "work out". IMO, "work out" means giving us quality PT for two years. They won't all make all conference.

In 2012 Larry Banks played in all 12 games and started in 4. That's pretty significant PT. It's amazing how he could make the field with Sonny, but not with Skip. It must be his lack of talent!

It couldn't be the way the OL was coached or our shitty offensive philosophy. It's all Sonny and TF's fault he had a down year in 2013!
