Of course it needs to be all-purpose, i.e. MissState.
Our football pre-season starts a week earlier this year (in July) due to the elimination by the NCAA of 2-a-day practices. When you lose a practice to lightning (notice I didn't say rain) it can't be made up as an added "2-a-day."
Having an indoor workout area in the last three bowl towns came in very, very handy.
IMO, bowling in JAS should only be done after we are filling the current configuration to 70-80% on a somewhat regular basis. I think a brick facade for the exterior would have more bang for the buck than empty seats... again just my opinion.
A facade is almost completely aesthetic. Fix up the bathrooms and concessions in the west. Then they work on seating. Extend the south side to be closer to the DAC, no weird gap and you can make a more permanent handicap access while doing this, replacing the aluminum ones. Then work on the north side if you'd like to get rid of wings in favor of something else. Facade can come after these.
What if we worked with Ruston HS, Neville, and West Monroe HS to build a joint indoor practice facility (Multipurpose Athletic) for the Lincoln Parrish-West Monroe area? That would relieve much of the funding in the area, and help us to improve relations with those coaches and recruits, especially the very talent rich WMHS. I'm sure it would be easy to schedule 4-8 practices in a day with inclement weather
(Tech could cover 50% of funding, other schools 50%,
or maybe Tech 25%, HS's boosters 25%, Lincoln Parrish 25%, Ouchita Parrish/West Monroe City 25%,
or something like that).
We could maybe cooperate with Grambling too, hopefully we could keep ULM out of it. We could improve the conditions for the region, and not have to raise all the money ourselves.
Lighting at the Love Shack is poor to middling, been in enough other parks to know there is a drastic difference and we are "dark" and outside of a full-fledge hitting facility probably their second most desired improvement
I think our current scoreboard configuration is fine, especially considering the little $$$ we invest in our media staff
Restrooms for the outfield area - rent a few port-a-potties for the 3 or 4 games they are needed
Nah, just an indoor practice facility. As stated above the facility is not that important, but would be a plus. Having it between us and the three high schools would improve relations with them, and give us a place to go for super regionals, bad weather, etc. Plus, the costs to build and maintain would be less as it would be a shared location. I'm fine not including Grambling like BD suggested.
It is a very good idea.... If Lincoln Parish contributed, Grambling would need to be included. I would be fine with that. They are a different division and it would show good will. Of course, Grambling would need to contribute, if Tech did. Don't know if they could afford much.
To hide the underbelly (mainly the eastside), we should build-out the stadium footprint by creating new concessions/restrooms/office/storage/entry gates along the outer side of the stadium. The current set up with the main concession inside the grandstands creates too much congestion. By doing this, you would create a pretty nice concourse area, ability to create a nice facade, and improves the functionality of the venue.

Thank you, I agree partnering with Grambling would show goodwill, and the partnership would require them to contribute. Plus, even though they are in the same division for all sports but football, they are not competitive enough to challenge us for substantial recruits in the other main sports, so I personally would not be too concerned with them stealing too many recruits because of it.
But the main thing about such a partnership, beyond having the facility, is that Tech would have so much more money to spend on the other suggested improvements that have been floated around on this thread.
