EBOLA has returned, with confirmed cases in west Africa. It had last played out in 2015 when an epidemic ran its course, and now has made its return. Hmmm...who was in charge back in 2015 and who is in charge now? Funny, from 2017 thru January 2021 EBOLA was quiet.

I am not saying there is a direct connection to who happens to be POTUS, because if I did....But, I am pointing out if this had been reversed, and the E. virus had returned in 2017, the other side would be blaming the POTUS in charge from 2017 to 2021. Wind turbines frozen in west Texas...hmmm, I bet they could use natural gas powered heaters to unthaw 'em!!! Saw a pic of a wind turbine, up in the Dakotas, broken, twisted and on the ground as a result of strong winds. Hmmm, a wind turbine that can't handle the wind.

Other than they being unsightly, I have no problem with wind farms, just like I have no issues with any other form of alternative energy where it is practical. Heck, most of the exterior lighting around the estate is solar lights! It works so why not use it.

The problem with the power outages is that coal and gas fired power boilers had been taken off line and replaced by windmills that can get ice on their propellers and start vibrating and can destruct if the ice is not removed. The ice on the propellers would also slow them down.

Sure, poor preparation at the state level and ERCOT. But this problem was set in motion a long time ago when Texas deregulated utilities, causing ERCOT to come into being in the first place.

Some of this was practically unavoidable because electricity is still an on-demand utility, but the severity of the shortfall causing people to die in their homes by not having heat for several days is a state issue.

This is very true.. despite what Goosey says.. The windmills are shaped very similar to an airplane wing and the curvature requires a smooth leading edge.. When ice forms just as on an aircraft wing, it disrupts the smooth flow of air over the surface and reduces its efficiency. That is why ice buildup on wings of an aircraft can cause a plane to lose lift and ultimately crash.

ERCOT says the main contributors to lack of power generation are frozen instrumentation at gas, coal and nuclear plants and low natural gas pressure.

Texas owns the power grid but still has to follow federal laws written by politicos/lawyers. The windmills are also made from fossil fuels, transported to their site with fossil fuels, have to be maintained by fossil fuels.

In Texas our natural gas, coal and nuclear power plants shut down because they froze.

They froze because they are not winterized.

They are not winterized because that costs money, and our regulations in Texas do not encourage reliability.

Probably half the homes will have pipe damage because dripping the faucets wasn’t enough when you didn’t have any internal heat.

If you are going to claim the windmills failed, the fossil fuels failed us worse. The windmills were the least of our problems. That was directly from the mouth of the CEO of ERCOT.

I am not hating on fossil fuels. The problem was that our deregulated native utility system in Texas failed because it caused a race to the bottom...lowest cost provider wins.

So even being deregulated, they were still limited by the Feds in the amount of power they could produce. They were granted permission by the DOE to increase volume on Feb 14.

FACT CHECK: Joe Biden Falsely Claims Trump Had No Vaccine Distribution Plan


VERDICT: MOSTLY FALSE. Trump had a plan that was complicated by the diverse policies of state governments.

Biden, speaking at a Pfizer manufacturing facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Friday claimed that President Donald Trump had left him no plan for the distribution of coronavirus vaccines.

“My predecessor, as my mother would say, God love him, failed to order enough vaccines, failed to mobilize the effort to administer the shots, failed to set up vaccine centers. That changed the moment we took office,” Biden claimed.

President Biden is incorrect. As Former Senior Advisor to the Department of Health and Human Services John “Wolf” Wagner confirmed to Breitbart News on Friday there was a vaccine distribution plan far before Biden took office.

In fact, a key component of Operation Warp Speed had been to prepare for distribution long before anyone knew which particular vaccine (if any) would be proven effective.

Biden’s false claims echoes repeated false statements by members of his administration that they were “starting from scratch” on the vaccination effort.

The truth is that Trump’s Operation Warp Speed not only developed vaccines in record times — despite the open scorn of Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris — but also developed plans to distribute the vaccine across the country.

The Department of Health and Human Services outlined the distribution plan in September 2020. When there were initial problems, thanks in part to confusion over a two-dose system, and in part due to differing state policies, the outgoing administration updated its plan to expand vaccination sites and the number of Americans who were eligible to receive it.

There was also the problem of state reluctance. Democratic governors, such as New York’s Andrew Cuomo and California’s Gavin Newsom, announced that their states would review the efficacy of any vaccine approved by the Trump administration.

The purpose of such announcements was almost entirely political, aimed to reinforce Biden campaign messages claiming that Trump did not care about science.

Still, such announcements complicated distribution plans and made clear that states wanted discretion over how vaccines provided by the federal government were to be administered.

Some states also slowed distribution by aiming at “equity” rather than rapid distribution to seniors. Conservative states like West Virginia and South Dakota led the pack; deep-blue California was dead last in vaccine distribution efficiency.

The day the Biden administration took office, it began leaking claims that Trump had no plan in place. CNN, citing sources in the new administration, claimed on January 21 — Biden’s first full day in office — reported that “Newly sworn in President Joe Biden and his advisers are inheriting no coronavirus vaccine distribution plan to speak of from the Trump administration.” CNN quoted an anonymous source: “We are going to have to build everything from scratch.”

Biden’s White House Chief of Staff, Ron Klain, made a similar claim recently — and left-leaning PolitiFact rated it “mostly false.”

The goal of such claims is apparently to deny Trump any credit for the vaccine program. Biden claims credit, for example, for a promise of distributing 100 million doses by the end of his first 100 days in office. But the Trump administration had already announced in November that 100 million doses would be provided in the early months of 2021.

Not me. But, the truth is Biden et al have, at best, tweaked Trump's plan, which is great. Trump would have tweaked his plan to as circumstances revealed better ways to do things. What's working? What's not working? Where can we improve matters? That is normal, run-of-the-mill business management, of which Trump has plenty of experience.

So, if Biden can review things and implement improvements where it's possible, great! I'm all for it.

This has been addressed, but you ignored it.

We had no idea what the "vaccination" rate was in the beginning. All the drive by media could focus on was "orange man bad" not the real facts. Even Fox News was ignoring the numbers of shots being given. When Biden come out with his bold prediction, we scoffed because it didn't seem realistic based on what we were seeing here in Louisiana (it's till screwed up).

In typical Biden (leftist) fashion he was simply using the existing numbers of shots being given by bad orange man's people.

The only thing that has changed since Biden has taken office is loosening up of who can actually give the shots.
