Someone posted a follow-up picture of the officer that was shot in helmet. I didn't realize it was a straight on head shot, as in the forehead. The photo of the helmet I had seen was cropped and made it look like it was on the side. The officer has some scarring and bruising, but otherwise looks okay. Body armor technology is great.

It wouldn't surprise me just as the 9-11 skyjackers visited strip clubs, drank heavily and beat women while at the same time espousing muslim morals and ethics, beliefs and ideals. Then in the name of their "god and religion" planned over time and then killed thousands of innocent men women and children.


I find it interesting, and somewhat disturbing, that our fellow BB&B conservatives and liberals might be afraid to post about this attack on Americans on American soil. Is it the killing of gays by a Islamic radical that has kept guys and gals from posting? Is it all to un-PC to comment? Or have the terrorist or Obama/Obama ADM and his "watching of the web" have people on BB&B scared and therefore won?

I don't agree with the gay lifestyle, or even understand it, but I don't think anyone has the right to execute them "just because." For the most part gays are harmless people who mostly mind their own business. And, yes, I have friends who are gay. I have business associates who are gay. None of that matters, nor is discussed, we talk business. In fact, I'll be attending my first gay wedding later this summer. At this point, I'm not judging anyone. God can do that.

On the other hand, mooslim radicals represent a clear and present danger. Heck! now Disney World is on the list of targets. I have booked a trip there with my two oldest grandkids. Now, either we'll be at risk, and/or have to endure airport type of security just to get into the park. Disney? this is the final straw.

I heard an interview with a retired DHS employee (Philip Haney?) who stated the above.

I think y'all are referencing Obama & Co's purge of all references to Islam and Muslims from FBI training material (since whites are the biggest threat to Americans according to O&C).

Mateen was investigated pretty thoroughly in 2013 and 2014. They found zero cause to say he was involved with any extremism. There was no reason to deny him his rights until his happened.

The reason Republicans and NRA opposed banning the sell of firearms to people on the terror watchlist is because of the lack of due process, no accountability for adding and removing people, and the underhanded ease the left would add EVERYONE to it they can get away with.

It took 9 years to find him. If Obama knew where he was, why did he wait 2 years to give the order to kill him. Why did he not send help to Benghazi when our people were being murdered by muslims? Four of the victims were women ranging in age from teens to seniors.

A 22-year-old man from Oakland, California, man was indicted Friday on charges related to material support for ISIS.
His case represents the 130th ISIS-related arrest in the U.S. since March 2014.

According to the Justice Department, Amer Sinan Alhaggagi opened up social media accounts on behalf of ISIS and was willing to commit a suicide bombing.
Even more disturbing, according to the indictment, Alhaggagi said he wanted to "redefine terror" and kill 10,000 people here in a domestic terror attack.

The indictment also states that Alhaggagi discussed selling poison drugs and attacking a gay club in San Francisco.
"The whole Bay Area is going to be up in flames," he reportedly said.

He had also spent time in Yemen, and had planned to flee the country through Mexico following his attacks.
Alhaggagi was arrested in November 2016 and held on unrelated charges until last week's indictment.

I thought they had to be receiving a Social Security disability payment ("a crazy check") and be incapable of managing their affairs. I didn't think this applied to the rank and file retiree collecting their EARNED Social Security payment from 30+ years of hard work and taxes.

Personally, I am in favor of this restriction for the crazy check folks, but I am not in favor of doing this via executive order. The president should not be able to deprive anyone of their constitutional rights (the right to bear arms) without going through congress and it passing a Supreme Court ruling.

The most concerning point of this is that they were using private, yet publicly held, medical records to determine who gets to keep their constitutional rights. Think about how this could turn out if we go to a single payer system where your medical records are easily accessible by the likes of Lois Lerner, John Gruber or some other government hack. The government is NOT a benign entity, and the bigger it is the less benign it will be.

Personally, I am in favor of this restriction for the crazy check folks, but I am not in favor of doing this via executive order. Yes, and GOP said it was “heavy handed” and ACLU said it “unfairly sterotyped mentally ill as dangerous.” Unlikely bedfollows.

But how else would someone know that a buyer is mentally ill unless it shows up on the background check?

And if someone is too crazy to manage their finances, why are they not too crazy to have a gun?

No that's pretty stupid. That's "apples and oranges" my man. Apples and oranges.

They need to show up on background checks per if they have already been in a mental institution, taking certain psychotics,
have onset or full blown dementia or alzheimers, been in the federal or state pen, been accused in court of hurting/threatening or abusing children/adults or animals etc...

Pretty simple IMHO. Especially after how much data ObamaCare, NSA and his ilk other government collected on us all over the last 8 years.

From what I understand, they included stuff like "anxiety" and mild depression in the mix. These are hardly issues that would preclude being able to handle a gun....but they are hardly issues that would preclude you from working either.

This shows me that it's too easy to get a crazy check from the government. If you don't think so, watch "the wonderful whites of west virginia" and you'll change your mind. A whole family of useless dung collecting government money and having babies.

But, like I said, if you are willing to accept a check from the government for this stuff, I am in favor of restricting your right to carry a firearm (just do it via law and not executive action). I am also in favor of restricting your right to vote (and decide how tax dollars are to spent) if you don't pay taxes. And if you keep having babies on the public dollar, forced sterilization is certainly in the mix as well. Unrestricted immigration and the ability to do whatever you want should have ended with the onset of the welfare state...because I don't care what you do, I just don't think I should pay for it.

Why he didn't get a dishonorable discharge is hard to understand. He spent a year in the brig, spent time in a mental hospital, hit his stepson so hard that it cracked his skull and beat his wife, and was caught trying to smuggle firearms on to the base where he was stationed. This was a huge screwup by the Air Force. This guy should be in prison and the 46 people he shot would all still be alive.

It's absolutely amazing how much guvmint agencies (including the military) screw up and yet there are still morons out there who think giving that same guvmint more power and control is a good idea. That's why we call such morons "libtards."

Their lies are well documented and proven. Some would argue Bush was a liar, too, but that position seems more debatable.

I do agree that we should have safeguard in place that keep mentally ill people from obtaining firearms. As with many laws, it is the enforcement part that proves to be difficult, though.

We need a special prosecutor to investigate this.
