true....he's an insult to clowns everywhere. lol
Sounds like she has still been lurking on BBB. Its kind of hard to believe that Miss Missy could come up with an excuse like that all on her own. From what I have read and heard about the fiasco bowl, I didn’t think that it was ever a question of Tech vs ULM, I thought it was Tech OR ULM. Tech and Ohio would have probably been a fun, high scoring affair. I would be very disappointed if I really thought that we turned them down simply because we didn’t want to play ULM. We might not want to schedule someone during the regular season, but in a bowl game I would think that we would be willing to take any and all comers. I think it is much more plausible that we were waiting on a Liberty Bowl invite that we had been led to believe was a pretty sure thing. And even if we did decline an invitation because we didn’t want to play ULM, I don’t think we would have been dumb enough to state that as the reason. I think Miss Missy is just trying to cover her own ass and pass the buck.
After the Independence Bowl debacle, ULM (8-4) going to a bowl game, etc does not bother me as much now. Without names 8-4 deserves a bowl. What bothers me a is the current system. The lower tier bowls probably for that matter none of the bowls need conference tie ins. Allow them to take the best teams available that provide the match ups they desire. What makes me mad is two 6-6 teams (one which we beat) playing in a bowl in Fort Worth. That is what is messed up. They will need to fix this system very soon because when the play offs go to 16 teams many of the bowls are going to become irrelevant unless they use the bowls as stepping stones in the play off system.
This is obviously a "belief" and not a fact. I was one who, at the direction of the administration, communicated on Thursday to my friends, Kyle McInnis and John Hubbard, the second and first Vice Chairs of the Bowl, that if TECH did not receive an invite from another Bowl that would enable TECH "to play up" - TECH would play ULM in the IBowl. On Friday the Selection Committee unanimously issued TECH a bid - one without a deadline. On Saturday morning, when the IBowl realized that it appeared TECH would likely be offered an opportunity "to play up" in a different Bowl, Missy Setters was directed to call BVDV with a deadline. TECH told Missy that it wanted to wait until Sunday to see what happened with the other Bowl opportunity. The rest is history!

Thanks STF for your allegiance to Tech and for setting the record absolutely straight!
Yes.
Bruce told Missy that anybody that the I-Bowl wanted would have still been available on Sunday.
There was no good reason to invite ULM or Ohio a day early. Nobody was going to take ULM.
The Indy Bowl was guaranteed to have one of LaTech, Iowa State, Ohio, or Bowling Green (8-4) available to them on Sunday afternoon.
Missy, Jack, and the I-Bowl decided to take Ohio and ULM to spite Tech because they got their feelings hurt that Tech wanted a better bowl.
There is no doubt that Tech would have accepted the I-Bowl bid had the Liberty and HOD options fallen through. The WAC commissioner wouldn't have asked the Indy Bowl to invite Tech if Tech wasn't going to accept it had it been our only option.
Considering the Louisiana Industrial Institute didn't beat a single team with a winning record during the regular season they really didn't deserve a bowl bid anyways.
When these schedules are made out, they're done way in advance, how in the world can you know what their win/loss record will be ? They could have been a winning team...put on your night vision goggles and you might want to go Vegan Carl...helps your vision for seeing things in the future...DOH !
Okay, who broke wind?
1. Put this shitsack on ignore like I did.
2. Enjoy peace and conversion with college graduates.
The I-Bowl knows that Tech's goal is to move up by playing up. That's why Tech played A&M in Shreveport. The I-Bowl should have told Tech we would be the host team and they would get us the best possible opponent. I'm certainly not upset by not playing the juco from monroe in the Toilet Bowl.
