Yes ULL belongs to the "Lucky Sperm Club" on this point but they just aren't lucky. They have zero luck and zero class!! And to top it off, if they weren't part of this club they would be just another Delgado in New Orleans or lsu Euless. ULL is a sad joke!
Re: University of Louisiana System Name Change Policies and Guidelines
BigTit, you've got a bad case of the Tech Butt-Hurt & it's definitely making you look stupid.
The Cajun Dome is decent but it's much too big for ULL's needs. That place is cavernous & even with a good attendance game that thing is half full. Tech Fans are very fortunate to have the TAC. It's just the right size, there's not a bad seat in the house & it was built specifically for basketball. Even with its age its always been a fantastic venue to watch some hoops, especially with the new Paul Millsap video scoreboard & upgrades.

The Cajun folks edit everything to fit their wishes. Their lack of ethics is no longer surprising, as the NCAA has proved and @ Lafayette has admitted. Their fan's claims of a "rogue coach" rings hollow. Even if true, it shows that the AD and HC have lost control of the football program.
"Tete's" posting of this Revised Statute is merely a feeble attempt to drag Tech into their name game. I am quite sure they know that Ruston is not part of the official name of Louisiana Tech University, and the RS they are so fond of citing merely designates the location of the schools in the U of L System, unless the city is already part of their official name, as the ULXs, e.g. Thanks to the Cajuns plea with the Legislature and coercion of NLU to accommodate them, it takes an Act of the Legislature to change the name of a university. No such Act exists and Tech's official name remains Louisiana Tech University. That is a good thing as we are nationally recognized and quite happy with our name. No identity crisis has ever existed for Tech. Also, we are the only National Tier 1 Research University in the U of L System--a status @ Lafayette fans claim to be unimportant while at the same time stating they need to get there. Their hatred and jealousy of Tech seems to increase on a daily basis.

Is it time for a lawsuit? I know Sandra Woodley on a professional and personal basis. I like her, respect the job she is doing, and wouldn't want to drag her into a mess, especially one as silly as a name thingy. Maybe no one has simply spoken to her about this issue, with a, let's say, passion and "we're not gonna take it anymore" attitude.
To be honest, this is the first time I have read the policy. In the past, I have depended on others' comments/opinions of the policy. It is clear.
Were a lawsuit be filed, it must also include that the use of Louisiana be prohibited as well, as it implies the same status and is in clear violation of the law's intent.

Barney certainly is a nice fellow, though

You are correct except for a minor detail. They were founded in 1900 (what their seal said for decades along with the state legislature). They opened for classes in 1901. But you are correct that about 5 years ago ULL revised their founding date to make them appear older than they are. In addition, ULL's seal does not include the word "at," has typographic variations, and has their municipal location less than 80% of the rest of the name, all three of which are in violation of the law. Everything about ULL is a fraud. ULL is one of the most dishonest and unethical schools in the nation.

I was told the change was made after they determined the original bill to create the school was filed in 1898. Go figure!;)
