That alone is worth the investment.

You realize this completely changes the way we all envision you while reading your posts from now on. I am not sure I wanted that image. ;)

Now that's an ugly thing to say.
Want to know what I'm doing right now?

Re: Sources: Conference USA will see vastly reduced TV revenue next season
ODU budgets for at least a $600,000 reduction in TV revenues
Quote:
Old Dominion anticipates a $600,000 to $700,000 yearly decline in revenue from Conference USA's new TV contracts, down from the $1 million per school that league teams currently receive.
A decline in TV revenue for 2016-2017
has been expected since January, but at the time, it was thought fees would decrease by about $500,000 per school.
Quote:
Sources at two C-USA schools indicated Thursday that ESPN has become a late but serious bidder for the league's TV rights. The nation's dominant sports TV network has proposed televising an unspecified number of Thursday and Friday night football games.
League officials previously said they were negotiating with Fox Sports, the CBS Sports Network and the American Sports Network, whose contracts with C-USA expire at the end of June. Five C-USA games have already been moved to a Thursday or Friday night for TV, a sign that the league likely has a finalized an agreement with at least one TV partner.
Re: Sources: Conference USA will see vastly reduced TV revenue next season
At least it won't be the MAC Tuesday/Wednesday night. Friday night would not be too bad for attendance at home games. Thursday not so good. We can have good attendance if the admin pushes hard enough. We all remember the Wednesday night Red Out against Hawaii. One of the best attended games I went to in Ruston.
Re: Sources: Conference USA will see vastly reduced TV revenue next season
FWIW, Friday night football in northern Louisiana would be a direct battle for our family crowds.
I venture to say they would attend their high school game in person and watch the Tech game later on the DVR.
Yes, we had a Friday night game in 2015, but it was out of town.
Re: Sources: Conference USA will see vastly reduced TV revenue next season
Friday would be inconvenient for HS game watchers but a lot more convenient for out of towners than Thursday.
Heck I had friends in Port Arthur, TX who said attendance at Lamar University games was low because everyone went to the HS games on Friday. I never really understood that except they must have a low threshold for football. I actually went to one HS game in Port Arthur and wasn't too impressed having see Joe Ferguson against Bert Jones the fall before.

I fully understand your fan points.
My angle was our "family friendly" Tech fans . . . parents of players, cheerleaders, dance line, pep squad. At the University of West Monroe that number is rather significant. As for local attendance we just haven't overcome the Friday night conflict and Saturday daytime conflict (with soccer/peewee football).

Unfortunately planners of high school games and youth sports consult the calendar for conflicts with lsu crap. Very few if any do that with LaTech functions.
