Saw a post saying something negative about Spain. I have only been there twice, but enjoyed both visits immensely. Back in the early 90's we even did the Running with the Bulls thingy. Admittedly, I was kind of cowardly, when I heard the cannon fired, a half mile away announcing the bulls had been let out, I started moving with the crowd. I had told myself I was gonna run "with 'em". But, I didn't, or we didn't, my group. We never saw the bulls until after we reached the arena, and even then, we stayed close to an exit in case one of them rascals came too close. I know....shameful.
Anyway, have business associates who summer in Spain for a month. And we are invited to go and share their villa, which we plan to do for a week+. Would have already gone, but they just got A/C installed in their villa this year. So, next year, we are going. It gets awful HOT in Spain in the summer. Have to have my creature comforts, ya know. Heck, we spent 3 weeks in Rome in the month of May in an apartment without A/C some years back. NEVER AGAIN!!! That was May, before it gets terribly, terribly hot over there, and I was miserable. Nope.
That is awesome story! I whined about Spain but only because I had some issues-- first time I was in Madrid with X --need I say more-- she made it miserable. Second time everyone seemed rude, finally a waiter told me that I was speaking French ( a screwed up version) and they hate the French -things got somewhat better after I just spoke English. Last time I went I was robbed-- Luggage was stolen . fortunately my granddaughter had my passport and am x card-- I am notorious for losing stuff. I did however enjoy doing the Flamenco and the Spainish women are beautiful. As you know its a country that comes alive at midnight and young folks rule--which is great unless you are ancient

That'll learn you not to take your X on trips.

We were going for "LahTech". It was obvious early on that EllAye Tech was replacing what was intended. A small change would have fixed it.
Visually, LaTech is better than LATech, anyway. I prefer Louisiana Tech

That is the right one IMO

Seems to be the norm for Spanish-speaking countries. Experienced that in Panama and Columbia too. But, our friends' villa is in a small town, on the coast, outside of Barcelona. It's a relatively quiet district, a "boring" neighborhood. Which is perfect for us. We can go to the disco district with all the noise and excitement, about 10 miles away, and we get tired...which admittedly is usually long before midnight...we can retire to our quiet digs.

Time to leave office, tank up and get on road to Ruston with Sportsdawg, grandson and lifelong friend -- just gave away 9 tickets to Mudbug game-- No way I miss my Dogs

While sitting in the parking lot between 6 and 9pm many things came up in discussion. One of which was the hated "Lah Tech" over the loved "L. A. Tech" by a few Louisiana Tech supporters. All were under 40 but not BB&B people! I just sat back listening until I asked, "Does anyone Read Bulldogs, Barks, & Bytes?"
It was very entertaining!

And El A Tech'd again at 10:00 on NBC6 (more like 11:00 because of SNF)

I say "Louisiana Tech." I work with a Texas Tech alum. We both simply say "Tech" when referencing our schools. Co-workers have learned to understand which Tech we are talking about. The all know about Louisiana Tech because I wear a Tech shirt at least once a week and started doing so long before we started the Loyal Blue Friday.
