How long have you coached college football or been a president of an organization? Just curious what you feel should be the standard and expectation. Dr. Guice has/is performing very well. So is Coach Holtz and staff. What are your expectations? Why are they your expectations? You seem to have all the answers. So, answer these questions three. If you can't, or won't, you are just criticizing things you know nothing about.
I hope we are able to keep Holtz a long time. Tech is fortunate to have him.

I'm comfortable what these young players are doing and believe they given us what we need-- how about Sedrick getting fumble on goal line- Amick getting the overtime pick ( one of all time stupid calls by SM coach--why take that chance). One thing I know for sure, most of us do not like prevent defense nor do we like ball control -slow offense ... I like bend but don't break but not prevent ... can't explain the difference
I have never been a fan of the prevent defense, unless you are going to blitz. Never been a fan of protecting the base lines in late innings, either. Don't know the stats for either - maybe the strategies work. The former hasn't worked for us this season.
Re: Holtz post game comments
I believe in the prevent defense when all that the offense has left is one 70 yd hail Mary. That's what it was meant for.

I'm not giving up on this team. I suggest none of us should.
Also, these players are well coached. Sometimes they don't execute well.
And one lousy play away from being 2-5.

People conveniently forget that it was a MIRACLE we beat WKU. And the fact that if NWST QB doesn't go down, we may have very well lost that one also.
Re: Holtz post game comments
Yeah, I remember. However, one point of view does not negate the other.

I don't think he is trying to negate it. He's pointing out that we could just as easily be 2-5 with wins against a FCS and a lower end SB team. Neither of those wins at home were we dominate in.

I agree. That is also sort of my point. Tech doesn't have the offense to dominate anyone, so can't overcome bad luck (e.g., a Hail Mary) or poor officiating (e.g., the blocked FG when UAB committed two obvious infractions.) Discipline and more consistent offensive play can be improved, which could negate what the team can't control. Point is, the season isn't over and our team still has the opportunity to be successful. We knew going in that our team was largely inexperienced. I think we did expect more consistent and better QB play. The 2 guys that left the team probably hurt our chances more than we thought at the time. Maybe Smith doesn't run more and harder because there is no one behind him that is ready to play at all. It could be that Holtz and staff are doing a better job of coaching than many realize.
Re: Holtz post game comments
Maybe Holtz and staff are doing a better job of coaching (re: Smith) than many realize? Oh....I see. Then they are doing an even better job of covering it up. Sure don't see any "better job" manifesting itself. So...when might we stupid, clueless, we-are-just-silly fans going to see some positive results of this "better job of coaching than many realize?" I'm just asking. Is there some target date when Holtz and staff are going to finally reveal this "better than many realize" QB?
If there is such a date, I hope it's October 28, 2017. It's kind of now or never for this season.

You focused on the QB, not me. And, if you inferred I was, you were incorrect.

Fixed it for you.

Exactly what USM did. Scored a TD on pass to Ito Smith on the first play of the game and got two FGs the rest of the night.

Most of you are buffoons who know jack squat about football. So look in the mirror and consider that before you post. I will call names if needed.

For the record -- I am a buffoon who knows jack squat about football.
