I have nothing but love in my heart for T1. If everyone agreed with everyone, this would be a boring place.
T1 has been around a long time.....and yet nobody ever paid any attention to him until he finally found his "cause" this season. His "cause" is being one of Holtz's few supporters here on BB&B. As such, T1 now receives all the attention he so desperately sought for so long, but never received before.
For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would pay any attention to T1's nonsense. It's clear he's nothing more than a provocateur. He's playing some of you people like a fiddle. But I have to congratulate T1 for successfully pulling so many people's chain here on BB&B.
Really, I'm not as much of a Holtz supporter as I am a sympathizer of the hand he was dealt by Sonny. I do think he will turn out OK though, but I'm just basing that on the job he did at UConn, ECU, and 2 of the 3 years at USF. "Fire Holtz" is a lazy way of saying "we need to get better." I think it makes people feel better to think if we just got rid of this one guy everything will be sunshine and lollipops. That's not how I see it. I think we just finished rock bottom and are heading into year 2 of the rebuilding process.
You must not of watched LA Tech football in 2013. Our players QUIT on Holtz. The coaches quit. The fans quit. You --and the people who think just like you do on this subject-- are about to learn a very hard life lesson about cutting your losses. Unfortunately, the rest of us that DO know better will have to suffer through the pain and punishment as well, simply because of the hard-headed ignorance of folks like you.
Without a coaching change, the LA Tech program is in for a terrible period. In fact, it could get so bad that it finally kills our program. The sad part is, it didn't (and doesn't) have to happen. But as long as we have people in charge that think the way you do, it's inevitable. .
I doubt that. I really think last year is as bad as it can get. We'll see. I hope I'm right and you're wrong.
I really, really don't think it is going to get worse (or even stay this bad). This year was a perfect storm of 17 new starters, including 2 green QBs, and a new coaching staff at the same time. The coaching wasn't great, but it wasn't as glaringly bad to me as the inability to make plays on the field was. I think that will improve with the experience these guys got this year. Everyone saw this year coming except for Tech fans.
Wrong again. And/or speak for yourself. There were plenty of Tech fans that saw this train wreck coming. Some of us even posted as much on this forum. Do ya remember the grief I got early in the season from a few delusional fans? Well, go back and look at some of the early season threads. But, it certainly wasn't just me. Some regulars were predicting a major collapse with the announcement of Skippy's hire. They even trumped me on that one! I was not happy with the hire, but decided to wait until the first game at least. The NC State disaster showed me all I needed to see.
So, no, do NOT insult many, many Tech fans with your nonsense that no Tech fans saw this year coming.
I mean before a coach was hired. Most people around the nation saw how many starters we were going to lose and knew we were going to struggle. I think Tech fans were blindsided by that. Most people outside of Tech think y'all are nuts for talking about firing Holtz because this year was so predictable.
Fans saw what happened at ECU, they saw what happened at USF, and they saw what happened at Louisiana Tech. Several of those observers who SAW what happened told us "Holtz plays 'not to lose' and it causes his teams to underperform and lose games to inferior opponents". We watched it all in 2013 and it played out exactly like they said it would.
That is why he should be fired, not because of any preseason predictions. These are post-season OBSERVATIONS.
Boy, this thread is almost ready for the gloves to come off!:)
