I don't have to drive to BR, and endure that parking lot referred to as I-10, to recognize BS when I see it.

Yes the data seems to be manipulated on the side of the regressive leftist that love panic and taking advantage of all potential and or real crisis. They want chaos and death in the streets, mail in voting to steal the Nov. election, cancelling church gatherings, spreading hate against our men and women in uniform, and they absolutely love stirring up their voting base by playing the race card.
It’s evil and satanic to the core!

I can tell you’re excited to say I told you so. Should’ve done what Taiwan did.

You have phone and email?
Call Billioux, ask him. OPH is responsive.

Phone, email, by carrier pigeon, none of that matters. I don't trust the answer.

It could also be the case that some of the mitigating attempts are not really effective at all and that the virus is just behaving like any other virus. I'm sure there will be plenty of studies to see what has been effective and what has not since it's obvious that viruses are not going away and we may need to deal with this or even worse in the future.
Gov Abbott was on Squawk Box this morning and he is now making the point I have been making since the beginning of May - he had to issue a mask mandate so that he didn’t have to issue another lockdown.
At the end of the day, mask mandates are the least restrictive thing our government can do to avoid having to implement restrictions that will be much worse and destroy the economy.
Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
Around here I'm guessing mask-wearing is running about 90% or so. That's just a rough estimate based on casual observation. I can say the % has gone up.

Looks like the Rt is down to .97 in Texas. I'm assuming that a corresponding drop in cases and hospitalizations will follow? It looks like the has been at least a slight drop in the number of cases over the last few days.

Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
Has anybody seen recent numbers on false negatives/positives? It would be interesting to see those numbers in red states/cities vs blue state/cities.

False positives are tied to the Becton Dickinson test (approx 3%).
False negatives are often tied to testing earlier in the infection (up to 20%). This is more of a function of the sensitivity of the test and it’s ability to detect smaller amounts of the virus.
For controlling the virus, the false negatives are more concerning.
For understanding the epidemiology, test positivity rates and hospitalizations are more informative as the number of tests given per week is always changing.
