Yep.....KD struggled with nagging injuries all year. That stuff consistently happens to bad football teams.

The truth is he took a brutal hit in game 2 (Lamar) and never really recovered. He didn't play against Tulane, Rice, Tulsa, or UTSA (all losses). We would have been 1-11 if he was not on our team.
Most of the "experts" in the mags picked us to be bowl eligible. I think. Sporting News had us at #3 in the conference preseason. So now, Tech fans weren't the only ones who expected more.
Really? I'd like to see a couple preseason publications that said we were going to suck as bad as we did (115th of FBS schools in the Sagarin Predictor). Everybody knew were weren't going to be as good as last year, but I don't recall a single publication predicting we would be the bottom 10 caliber team that we turned out to be. As I recall, most preseason publications predicted us in a bowl game this year.
Dixon is awesome everyone see's that. Hunter Lee should have gotten some carries when Dixon was banged up and he could have healed up from his nagging injuries. I doubt that Holtz watched film of the 2011 season, he left Lee at WR because Dykes had him there. Lee started out as a WR in 2011, but when some injuries at RB happened Dykes moved him to RB. Dixon and Lee are both every down backs that would make a really great 1-2 punch.
No one knew we were going to suck as bad as we did, but they knew their would be a significant dropoff when you lose that many players. They knew Dixon was good, Banks was OK, and the DL was good. The rest was all up in the air (because no one had ever seen those players play before). Turns out the OL struggled, the QBs struggled, and the WRs struggled. The defense improved, but not significantly enough to make up for the poor offensive play. But this was not shocking. It usually happens like this.
So, what happened to HL in 2012? Seems Dykes/Franklin didn't utilize him any more than Holtz did this year.
