Exactly, too many reasons that overlap as I just posted above. Not a crime just because crooked Biden (son and himself), Obama (easily involved as well) and John Kerry (step-son) were involved. Trump was doing his job as President to protect America's investment there and to hold back Russian aggression in Europe which Obama cared less about and probably gave Putin the green light.

Every single one of them since Eisenhower except Trump.

No, although I certainly think that was his intention. However, the actual delay was negligible, the country he was supposedly "shaking down" never knew that was happening according to them, and he received no political favors. It's hard to say since it didn't actually happen. I also think there are legitimate reasons to investigate what happened with Biden and Burisma. And while Trump was primarily motivated by political gain, that doesn't mean there was not legitimate reason to request the investigation. Guisslapp wants to hang his hat on Biden's son being independent from Biden, but the actions that are a problem are Joe's not Hunters. What Hunter did was obviously shady, but does not involve the United States or the executive branch. It did create a conflict of interests for Biden however.

What were his "political purposes"? That's a catchall phrase.
If they didn't know it was being held up how can it be considered "held up"?
Since he got them the money before the payment deadline is it considered "held up". Why pay before it is owned?

Really?
His political purposes were getting a foreign government to announce an investigation into Biden's son so that he would have an advantage over him in the election. Trump rightly saw that Biden was the only candidate that posed any real threat to him.
I don't buy that they didn't know it was being held up. The language of the call was clear. Dershowitz and Sondland think it was clear too.
I think Det is right, that his intention was clear. If it was clear to us, it's clear to the Ukraine.
So, Trump's ultimate defense is that he was trying to shake them down, but he couldn't figure it out, so he's in the clear.

Trump didn't see Biden as a real threat. That's a talking point, but not true. It's another example of pretending to know what Trump thinks.
I think they did know based on what the guy on the other end of the phone said, not what some thought they were thinking.
The intention was clear to those who were looking for something, anything, to pin on Trump. It was not politically smooth, but Trump is not a politician. He is an obnoxious businessman from New York.
His ultimate defense is that a person can't be punished for what others think they were thinking.

People are punished all the time based on their intent.

Would you trust Biden to be president? I know I wouldn't and there's a lot of people wouldn't. They're now favoring a socialist/communist over him. If he sells out our country for $6 million, what are the rest of the countries thinking about when we try to deal with them. Don't give me the bullshit about him not knowing what he's doing.

Trump and Biden are both too old for the office IMO...that, though, is a red herring regarding the current discussion. Has NOTHING to do with Trump's actions.
Re: Why no Trump impeachment thread on Paw-Litics???
I heard Schiff move the goal posts again. I guess he is a brilliant orator. He said it so smoothly, the left media just sopped it up like spaghetti sauce and garlic bread. The left is all for investigating Trump and Trump Campaign, but not investigating corruption, which happens to involve Hunter because he is the son of a man who announced a run for the White House after the investigation started.

A persons true intent is not the same as stated perception of those who hate that person.
