I pointed out that Trump supporters are making assumptions about intent while griping about others doing the same. There’s a word for that, but it’s not arrogance.

This is why Republicans can’t let Bolton testify. So many theories of plausible deniability will go away, and all that you are left with is what Mulvaney said originally Trump’s Administration “does this all the time so get over it.”

When left with the argument that cheating, self dealing and corruption are not impeachable, most Republicans will still take it. But that is an awful thing for them to have to admit to.

We don’t have a transcript of what he said. But even if he said “Us” as used in the memorandum, that literally proves nothing. It was a pretext. We know this for the six reasons I already stated.

There is no “ha, I didn’t say the magic words so I am off the hook” defense. This case doesn’t turn on one phone call.

This was a shakedown that took place over months with lots of interactions between Sondland, Volker, Rudy and Zelenksy’s Administration where we were negotiating and offering a White House meeting but only if Zelensky would go on CNN and make an announcement up to the standard that Trump would accept (Rudy being the arbiter of that). It turns out - proven by text exchanges - that only a statement that specifically mentioned Burisma and elections investigations would earn the White House visit.

If a person is naive enough to believe he needed help to beat Biden they probably agree with you and the other liberal Trump haters. Biden is a joke and was from day one.

I’m not the only arrogant one apparently. Dershowitz’s whole defense is built around Trump’s intent to get help beating Biden. Surely even Fox News and Rush have covered it. “We’re not saying he did it, but if he did, that’d be okay.”

All he’s ever been is self-preserving. It’s not arrogant to think he still is. Someone less loving and kind than me might say it’s naive to believe otherwise.
