Does the notion of,
"if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?" work in any way? Or just bullshit?\

I just got done watching Charlie Brown's "The Great Pumpkin" and I realized that it's things and moments like this that make me really miss my son.

Those Budweiser Real Men of Genius ads are still going. Didn't that kick off like 10 years ago? I remember them being funny at the time, but when I hear one now it's just kind of annoying. I wonder if this is because the bit is just worn out, or if they've got the 5th string ad team writing those things now. Probably both. But they're just kind of sad and played out. Need to let that bit go.

On a related note, what brilliant marketing mind developed those "tailgate tested/tailgate approved" ads. Really? You want to take something annoying (commercials in general) and copy/spoof something even more annoying (infomercials) to bring those things together. That's like deciding that your fingernails aren't bad enough on the chalkboard, you need to add commentary by The View to your fingernails running down the chalkboard.

I always get a "plug" of chewing tobacco or two for duck season as there is nothing like cuttin' a chunk and "working" the molasses while duck hunting. It is a truly gratifying habit IMO and the finest, yet least publicly accepted form of tobacco enjoyment to be had (ironic as there are a bunch of smokers out there that think you're "gross" while chewing plug tobacco but I always reply that I've probably never killed anybody with my "second-hand" spit). This year I couldn't find a single plug of "Days O Work" anywhere. I was saddened and would appreciate it if anybody knows where a city boy could score a plug or two as I attribute my poor duck season thus far to a lack of proper materials. I found some Cannonball but it's not the same.

No. Cannonball won't do in place of Days O Work. I'll look for you. I was on a chewing tobacco kick a couple of years ago and couldn't believe how expensive it is now. I think a plug or package of the good stuff is now over $5.

Everything is okay so far. My abdomen was the donor site
for my graft, it's burning and stingingnlike craY. Don't feel the surgery area on my arm, but my whole everything between the elbow and shoulder is
tingly. Won't know until later this week if the graft took or not. I'm praying it does, or it will just mean a longer stay. And another graft...

Honeywell was on board that flight. Corporate made a bigger deal out of it than they did the myriad of parts we flew on ARES I-X. I wish you'd have been able to make it. Something like that would be pretty cool.
