Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign
Trump/Cruz or Cruz/somebody either works. I am happy for Cruz as either he or Trump would be great. Good night for Cruz.
Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign
Cruz got close here. We voted for him (me and mine). Delegate count is tightening. Now, if Rubio and Kasich will just get out, I think we will see Cruz start cleaning Trump's clock. But, those two will wait to get embarrassed in their home states first.
I like Rubio and Kasich (would vote for either over Hillary), and I think they are serving this nation well in their current jobs. But, they are causing more damage now by remaining in the race. Dr. Ben Carson saw the light: people love me, they just don't want to vote for me. True.
BTW, had he stayed in the race, how do you think Bobby would've faired yesterday? Probably not too well...
Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign
You are a hard man to con, dawg80. Good job! Agree, if Rubio and Kasich get out then there is a clear choice between a principled, constitutional conservative and a guy who supports Democrats and doesn't know much about the constitution. That's still no guarantee the smart guy would win though.

There will be a choice between a politician who is the most hated guy in the Senate and a man that is outside the political systems that "tells it like it is". ;)

And the winner gets to debate the Democrat from her cell in Levinworth. :)
Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign
I feel like I am bracing for "Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Hillary Clinton walk into a bar..." :D
Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign
Cruz's strategy to FL to Trump is very likely to backfire on him. He would essentially have to win everything afterwards and he still couldn't get to 1237.
I think Ted is about to hand this thing to DT.

Disagree. The only chance to beat Trump is to give the anti-Trump voters 1 choice. Ted has earned the privilege to be the one.

I understand that. I'm saying that his strategy to get to a one on is a bad one. Not to mention that it won't achieve his purposes. The anti-Trump vote would still be split b/w Cruz and Kasich.
Mitt's plan was better than Ted's.
Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign
Cruz is going to have to rely on little Rubio in Fl and Milk toast in OH. If either fail Tump wins. Trump will win MI CA and NY and those will put him over the 1237. I don't like Cruzes chances.
Re: 2016 Presidential Campaign
Cruz and Trump both get 18 delegates from LA (5 for little Marco)

Cruz's plan is to help Trump win FL...see the recent attack ad buys. He has to win everything else to hit his number which is highly unlikely.
All that said, it looks like little Marco may be picking up some steam in FL.
We're headed to a brokered convention and that's bad news for Trump. Maybe if he hadn't spent so much time being a jackass he would've had a shot in the open convention.

Ted's plan is for Rubio and Kasich to drop out since neither has a path to winning, get most of their voters, and beat Trump in FL and OH.

Wrong. If he doesn't get the nomination and runs as an independent, that's bad news for the repug party. Sure win for the d'craps. ??
