Southern is the exception for visiting teams, not the rule. We will NEVER have another team come into Ruston demanding this number of seats or RV parking.
Tech fans need more parking for their own RV's in a closer location. THAT'S what we should focus on along with more freekin' shade trees around JAS.
Tech fans should always come first. While Tech should do its best to accommodate visitors, Tech can't afford to spend a lot of money for a probable one-off visitor and situation.

However, I understand that not everyone makes it to every game.

I certainly concur.

In all other areas, it seems the Tech admin was well prepared for this game. While I understand the discomfort, a walk from Hale Hall to JAS is not that far.

Who the hell do they think they are?
Does everyone they play kiss their feet like this?
I am sick of su and sick of all the apologist on this sight. So what if people had to walk to the stadium. It happens every where get over it and yourself (su)
He asked for a portable toilet and a shuttle. That's not an expensive request. Have you ever walked from the stadium to the campus in 99 degree heat. I did it last year and it was a killer and I'm in good shape for 68. Until we're selling out our stadium every game we don't have the luxury of telling visitors to kiss our ass.

Maybe we should have a parking lot designated for old folks only. It can be located anywhere on campus. We could have fraternity pledges pick up the old folks in 4 seater golf carts and drop them off at the gates in the west side. If you can survive Mr. Johnson telling stories through his dentures about his glory days in the 1950's at Tech, you're in.

This is awesome. Let's do this.

My understanding is they were very well compensated.

Tech owns multiple golf carts and utility vehicles. I'm sure we could afford a few student workers for 5-6 hrs. Mark a designated area near the corner of Railroad Ave. and Tech Dr. The service runs 2 hours prior to kickoff and 1 hour after the game. The service is available to Tech fans and visitors.....

I am fairly young and in good health. Parked at the Intramural Center and had 2 offers for a ride from people in golf carts. Either they were doing this more than some think or I must look a LOT older and feeble than I think. I turned down both.

Go walk it when the thermometer hits 99 again. I walked from the stadium to the campus last year in 99 degree heat and it's a killer. If we don't try to make fans' visit as enjoyable as we can, they won't come back. Last time I checked we're not selling out every game.

Last year at least one game there were golf carts shuttling people to the stadium. I did not turn it down.

I don't disagree with you. It is something Tech can address. My point is that Tech was seemingly well prepared for the big crowd, but sure some things can be improved without spending a ton of money, as some have suggested, for what may be a single occurrence.
