Thompson is a moron. As is anyone else who remotely believes that.

There is NO USA without the South. That was even more true in the 1860's. The North would have fought to their last man, if necessary, to keep the South from leaving. The South practically did, trying to leave.

Who needs who? Yeah....uh huh....that's what I thought.
