man, you do some serious work. Good job.

I was expecting big things from scotty, i big time missed that. Having all those damn turnovers by key players and having Dixon hobbled most of year cost us games. No excuse for not using Hunter more and we seemed focused on using smallest players we had at WR. I posted 6-6 as low and 9-3 as high before season began. I personally agree with your post
I am reminded of "no new taxes" quote. one of 2 things, he thought he had more skill players or he had skill players but misused them. What are your feelings on the staff in general Dwayne? I know your evaluation will be thought out and reasonable -- do they have the skils to turn it around?? We kept same staff for 10yrs under Maxie
we lost the best Offense Line I have seen at Tech in 50 yrs and Petey. We lost 4 skill players to NFL contracts . Ryan Allen saved a few games for us and Nelson had a few hiccups but overall was ok. Dixon set records and was healthy most of yr. At qb, CC was awesome and set records. The turnovers were horrible and I totally missed it on Scotty, whether he was not "coached up" or overrated is a mystery to me, probably both. I was looking forward to 2013 but find myself worrying about 2014 and a much more challenging schedule. It could get ugly--obviously hope not
only Crowton and Bicknell had first year winning records since Maxie retired -- that 2 0f 10.
probably bring the average age to 8-not born yet . I catch it for being a 50 yr supporter. Some Sensitive posters if you don't pamper them. Perspective does come with age -- now a days you have Bias is you don't pamper them. Ask Phil . I love Sonnys quote a few yrs ago
I think mis-managed from top to bottom in general...
Don't buy the talent thing at all - maybe we couldn't avg 50 pts a game but I think we could of avg 30+ if we used personnel properly - should of been 6-6 at worse maybe 8-4 if everything feel right - but he used up any goodwill by just winning 4
In all honesty - you can't compare college football staffs from 10 to 15 years ago, let alone 20 to 30 or 40 years ago - money has changed all that even at our budget level - you have to win and if not win be competitive, he did neither -
Very few games we played hard - and it was evidenced from the stands. If you are putting a conservative offense on the field they had better play very very hard in all aspects of the game
I think our S&C coach is not very good, we were whupped too many times by lesser athletes - heard too many players say they LIKE him, its one thing to respect him but our teams in the past didn't LIKE Damon they respected him - too easy on them maybe?
I think our defense may have been just as bad this year as it has been - teams just didn't have to pour it on us to keep up with our offense this year like they did last year its shortcomings were hidden in most games
We had no offense because we had no direction from the top from the get go -
Skip has to change this coming season - he needs to open practices back up and hit the chicken dinner circuit in full stride IF he has any chance of seeing a 3rd year. Becasue he is staring a max of 3 or 4 wins again straight in the face with crowds of less than 15k from the get go
Special teams were average - would of been better if we would of let the punter punt instead of fooling around with the rugby kick
I also hope I will be eating Crow over my opinion of Skippy! This would be Great if we are all wrong about him but fact is
that he and his Staff underperformed this year and it is lost forever!
My biggest worry is that we are seeing the same things happen here that happened at USF and he left the cupboard pretty bare at ECU and Ruffin is just now getting them back up to the talent levels Skip inherited from John Thompson -
To me, that is what BOTHERS me the most
What I saw was.....Skippy had us NOT playing to win....but playing NOT to lose. :(
This year should have been a rebuilding year. The schedule was easy enough to win 6 games and sneak into a bowl game even with greatly reduced talent.
I didn't really see any building for the future this year, and I didn't see 6 wins. At the end of the year, I would have been happier to see us playing more younger players to at least get them some game experience for the future.
Next years schedule is tough. Even if Skip does a great job of recruiting, it's going to take some serious coaching to get to a bowl game. I hope he can rise to the challenge.
