All of the tickets on our East side except section OO and about 150 on sideline are general admission, sit where you want except for band. An overflow crowd with school not yet in session might see some Southern fans try to squeeze into the area where students usually sit. I suspect most Southern fans will be on that side along with the Tech fans but there will mostly be a natural separation by school.

We were not that impressed by the crowd NSU brought. Probably 1200 compared to our near 25,000. Still no mention of anything being set up in the end zone for overflow next weekend. When seats are gone that is all. If we have our usual crowd of Tech fans there won't be room for 4,000 from Southern, much less 8,000. I hope everyone has a safe trip from wherever. I hope you enjoy Ruston. You will get friendly service at any local establishment you try out. I completely believe everything you guys have said about the crowd you will bring to Ruston and Tech. To have over 30% of our home stadium be visiting fans for our first game with a new facility to show off and the promise of a great season is hard to fathom and won't be the case.

Tech averaged just over 17,000 last season, and with school not yet having started, even with opening of DAC, your numbers will a little down for this game. Those extra seats will be occupied by SU fans. We purchased our tix directly from the Tech Ticket Office and Tech has no idea which school we represent. I'm telling you, thousands of your seats will occupied by your visitors.
Re: Someone Has Finally Listened - Southern Univeristy Coming to Ruston in 2015
Tech averaged over 20K last season and nearly 19K the year before. This game will sell out but it will be ~22K Tech + 7K Southern. In the 3rd Qtr it will be Tech 10K + Southern 1K. The first home game is always well attended by Tech fans.

I wouldn't exactly say we weren't impressed by NSU's crowd. They traveled pretty good, as you can see in this photo:

I remember rumors floating that NSU would bring thousands because it was this great rivalry renewed. They were well represented but less than the rumors. Either way, let's get those last few seats sold to true blue Tech fans so we don't have to hear anything from SU folk on Sunday morning!
Re: Someone Has Finally Listened - Southern Univeristy Coming to Ruston in 2015
I don't have my tickets yet.
Re: Someone Has Finally Listened - Southern Univeristy Coming to Ruston in 2015
Does anyone actually know the number of tickets sold to date?
My family will be at the game via seats from Community Bank and Trust!
It helps when your niece is a VicePresident with the bank!

Wonder if the reverse is true in this case. Many fans, the more casual variety, might be saying, ya know....there's gonna be a big crowd, so Tech doesn't need me to help attendance. And besides, it will be hot (6PM kickoffs prior to October is stupid in the deep South. Should be 7:30 or later), they will run out of ice and water, and other stuff. Traffic will suck. I'm staying home for this one.

There is no question that the heat may play a factor...
The fact that the students aren't in town will make an impact possibly as well...
Dispite that all, the locals need to know that something very special will be going on in town and they hopefully will not want to miss it!
The JOE will be the place to be at on Sept. 5th!

Awesome NEWS Earl!
I have to admit that I am pretty sure that I have never herd that about any game while following my BULLDOGS!
Whether it's the Ruston Loyal, or the Southern Fans... Hat's off to all!
Now, we just have to pray for awesome weather!
