Re: First Look at GATAVision
I never believed it would be just like the drawing, but it is going to be pretty close and still very impressive. Besides, I bet nothing actually looks just like the mock ups because you can't make building materials fit just like a CGI.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
how anyone can resist "hey kid, do YOU wanna be Willy Wonka?" is beyond me.

Game day experience wouldn't attract that many more, imo. Probably have more join if the format was different and appealed to students performing interest and such (and no, I'm not just talking about "ghetto music" as some call it).
I guess I was a steal then :) (a person who played well and was just happy to be part of the program).
Well I hope there is a plan to increase the size of the band.

How many people are actually in it now? I have noticed that it has shrunk in the past few years.

They aren't backlit ad spots it is more like digital billboards where they can be changed throughout the game. The clock is at the top in the center.

Sweet. That was a really smart thing to do. Generate more ad revenue. I'm assuming the CTB ad at the bottom will be featured prominently since they have
"naming rights." I'm really glad we are getting rid of that goofy ad for the local car dealership that had a cross on it.

Yeah, we really did have too much ad revenue.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
Did you see those friggin tires? I would hate to be on the opposite side of our linemen this year. Those things have got to be 200 lbs apiece.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
the brown grass will REALLY make the field look green for the games :icon_wink: man, we need some rain and we need it "yesterday"

Two Daktronics 23mm video displays, each measuring approximately four feet high by 45 feet wide, will also be installed, offering more visibility and opportunities for sponsors and advertisers. A custom LED scoreboard will also add to the exciting game-day environment at the opposite end of the stadium.
They are installing the Daktronic 23mm panels for the ribbon board.

Same panels as Auburn's stadium ribbon (very high quality).

I think he's referring to the cheesy cross and ichthus on an ad in a football stadium, you won't be saving anyone with a cross on an ad.
