So where is QB Caleb Holstein from our 2020 class? Do not see him listed on any roster. Don't know if he would be a factor in the QB competition, but curious why he isn't listed when QB JD Head from same class is listed. I would think the starting job is still somewhat open. Well, you know.....

According to this article, Holstein planned to "gray shirt" all along.
From the article: "Holstein will take a grayshirt, which means that he will count towards Tech's 2021 recruiting class". Louisiana Tech operates on a quarter system. Students can take classes during four quarter sessions each academic school year.]
"I'll be reporting a quarter late, which will allow me to count towards next year's recruiting class," Holstein said. "The Tech coaches liked my abilities. We had discussed that since the beginning of my recruitment.

It looks like this "gray shirt" thing is going to work out great for Holstein. He gets to skip this whole COVID shit show in 2020 and come to campus ready to play in the spring of 2021.

Not when the "Quaker" was playing. but, when J. Raymon P. and "Hoss " Newman (both end O&D) Bobby "IA" h/b, and on the south endzone was a small set of bleachers for our` Gramblin friends. (1948)

Re: If you want a thread to die
1948? Dern, I'm just a young pup. My first experience watching a Tech home game was in 1976. The Dawgs had opened with a road loss at Ball State and had the home opener vs. McNeese. A group of us who had met at orientation that summer agreed to meet at the game. I had a girl with me, a young lady from Plain Dealing, we found our group of friends standing about halfway down the lower section...right on the south 40, east side. I have been watching Tech games from that general area ever since...except for two years when I had season tix and perched on the west side. I prefer the east side. Anyway, we missed a chippy FG and lost that game 15-13. Fortunately, the Dawgs turned it around, including the epic win in the Snow Bowl over USM 23-22 to finish 6-5.
Seems like yesterday...only 44 years ago!

Re: If you want a thread to die
In my first years at Tech, girls could NOT smoke in the Tonk. It wasn't lady like!!! Girls had to wear dresses or skirts except in Gym class. Guys had to wear slacks or dress pants with a button down shirt. No sneakers allowed. Guys couldn't hold hands with a girl on campus.
So, do any of you remember how the Tonk got its name?????
-
Re: If you want a thread to die
Before my time. My oldest sister graduated in '42 and it was "The Tonk" then. Another hang out (not on campus) was the Kennel.

Hey Bullpup, I had a few fraternity brothers at Tech, who --like you-- took about 10 years to graduate. But, they didn't have a good excuse like you. LOL!
Thank you for your service! :)

Re: If you want a thread to die
N '44 while in the 9th grade, RHS (F,S,J &,S) classes had a "field trip" to Camp Ruston. We toured the compounds and saw the treasures that the POW's
created;;; ex. violin made from wooden match sticks, castle made from rocks (I think it is still in around some where) very creative men and friendly.
We had lunch there. In PM RHS football team had a scrimmages for POW's. Then I saw my first scocker game. Still vivid in my memory. What a day!

Will be in Ruston next Saturday to see the Dawgs play in person.

One of the best lines in sports' history.
Of course, sitting at 0-26 in franchise history who did the TB Bucs get off the snide against? If you said the hapless Saints, you are correct! And whipped the Saints 31-14, game wasn't even close. I am no longer a fan of the NFL, but I used to be, and suffered with the Saints for decades.

Re: If you want a thread to die
I'm not a fan of the NFL since they started wearing BLM t-shirts and started taking a knee!!!! I don't watch it anymore!!!
