That % is probably smaller in most states.
You said "same thing". It's not. The most recent example in how our current governor was elected to his last term...
Abraham was the obvious choice until a bunch of idiots below I-10 decided they needed "their guy" in the race. Had there been a republican primary "their guy" would have been beaten soundly and Abraham would have trounced Edwards.
As you said, ignorant voters (huge majority below I-10) made this happen. Louisiana is full of them.
FWIW, Cassidy is already toast. He won't get in the run off.
