Cancelled and immediately uncancelled. Amounted to nothing more than a PR boost. In the AAC now with a new Stadium… and nobody still attends the games.

Read 14.1.1.
I think an argument could be made that Holtz was terminated for cause under that clause. That’s all I’m saying.

Any argument that might be made would lose under that clause. He met all required media obligations and showed up to coach every game.

??
“ willful neglect by Coach of any material duties required under this contract or reasonably expected of a Division 1 Head Coach”, and/or “unwillingness…. to perform to best of his abilities”.
I’m looking for a loophole so I don’t have to pay a guy that didn’t do his job an extra $3M. You might pressure him into taking less.

Would rather see Rattay as a successful OC first. Being a great player does not necessarily make you a great head coach.

Just remember guys, Skip will have been paid by his last two employers over $5 million not to coach.

A telling statistic.

One of arguably the best periods for Tech football? Skip got us six of our 8 bowl wins...
Higher highs would've been great but we had a solid floor with him
Re: LA Tech, Holtz Announce Coaching Change Following Rice Game - latechsports.com
Lots of gnashing of teeth from the children online about how ole Skip is the best thing to ever happen to Tech
Re: LA Tech, Holtz Announce Coaching Change Following Rice Game - latechsports.com
Good luck Skip wherever you go. This needed to happen, and I’m glad it didn’t drag out for another couple of years before it did. I keep hearing people say that firing Skip was a risky move. I can agree with that. Jumping from the Titanic into the North Atlantic was also risky, just not quite as risky as staying on board.

Skip had his time and place here, he was compensated for it and now we have made a mutually beneficial separation which is advantageous to both parties, Time to move on....

Arkansas has a HC who was not a coordinator first. Things are going okay for them thus far.

I haven't seen the Joe packed or sold out in quite some time. Especially, for the last few home games this year.

He wasn’t a coordinator but he had been Associate HC at Arkansas and Georgia.

Look, i'm not going to take anything away from what Skip has done for this program. I will give him his dues and afford him the accolades he deserves. At the end of the day, I will thank the man for what he has contributed to Tech. But, the status quo is starting to get stale with the same results week end and week out. It's time for a change. With that said...the admin must make a concerted effort to show they are willing to change as well. If not, then they need to take a long hard look into the mirror.
