1. This endowment is designated for the use and benefit of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Louisiana Tech University. What did the payout for 2008 end up being?

So far the payout for the endowment has been

The 2008 payout was $950 and went towards a new ticketing system.
The 2009 payout is $683 and will be applied according to a poll that will be conducted via BBB. The Athletics office has submitted a list of needs: 1) Landscaping around Athletic facilities 2) Athletic complex framed aerial photo for AD office lobby 3) Soccer field signage 4) Out-bound call center in TAC for ticket sales.

I go for out-bound call center (even though I know what to charge for the aerial photo now.:icon_wink:j/k)

The recent poll on how to allocate the payout for '09 resulted in a recommendation to use it for landscaping. Bruce was pleased to hear that since he would like to construct a fence / retaining wall and some drainage along the parking lot between the TAC an JAS where some erosion has been occuring and washing dirt onto the parking area. Of course the payout is not near enough to do the job so he will gladly accept anything to help - the project is estimated to be $25K.

I have been wanting to get on this. If I can get the job I want after getting done with my MBA, I might slap some of my signing bonus to this. I really want to see this thing develop...

Reminder -

Still time to get a donation in for the endowment before the end of June. Good idea to get donations in before June 30 if you want the money to start paying out at the earliest possible date. Tech benefits whenever the money is deposited however. Endowment donations count towards LTAC membership.

This year's payout is calculated based on the principal on hand June 30, 2009 with the payout available to Athletics in July '10.

The money in an endowment must be on hand at least 12 months before a payout is made so whatever the balance is at the end of a fiscal year (June 30) will be the basis for the payout for the fiscal year 12 months later (July 1). The percentage payout varies from year to year based on market conditions.

We are close to getting the principle to the $50k milestone. Any help is much appreciated - thanks OLDDOG75 for your recent donation. Where are the other "olddogs"??? Make donations to La Tech University Foundation - Athletics Enhancement Endowment.

I put in my donation last week so hopefully it went through and got in before the 30th. Lets keep this thing growing.

This is great! It stills disappoints me that after 3 years only 13 people have made these contributions. Giving a portion of your LTAC contribution can go a long way when it's an endowment that you give to.
