Re: Covid - 19 - Louisiana Edition
More or less landed on a plateau...but this past week has shown a slow, steady trending up in the numbers, Oct 1 thru Oct 9. I suppose it's the change in the weather, folks at gatherings like hunting camps, and a few festivals across the state. Just can't seem to get on an improving trend and ride this sucker down to -->

Not when the testing numbers are so inconsistent. False positives are still the norm.

No they aren’t. PCR tests are far more likely to be a false negative than a false positive.

Of course. That's why you hear so much about them...

Heard lots of false positives from people I actually know. Not a single false negative from ANYBODY.

I haven't either, but then, if someone got a negative result back they are most likely to accept that and just go on with their day. They would probably never, ever know they were actually positive. Unless they started exhibiting symptoms.

Antibody tests or PCR?
I know plenty of false negatives. My wife deals with them weekly. People directly exposed (same household) as COVID positives, lose taste/smell and fever and test comes back negative. She still treats them as presumed positive for purposes of not coming back to work.

Antibody tests are a whole different thing, but those tests are not really used for screening or diagnostic.
Are you sure you just don’t know plenty of asymptomatic Covids? How would you know they don’t have COVID?

Average age is approximately 75. Life expectancy in Louisiana is approximately 76. Almost all of those dying WITH china virus in Louisiana have underlying conditions.
