The art of the deal is to go in with extreme demands and then negotiate to where you wanted to be all the time. I don't think Trump wants to deport people to countries where they have never lived, but congress needs to handle this constitutionally. This looks like a brilliant move on his part.

Democrats govern poorly and republicans seem incapable of governing at all. This should shake that up.

Using them for political gain is what stops now. This will take them out of limbo and stop them from being pawns in identity politics.

Do we need immigration reform or not? Is the constitution still relevant? This isn't about feelings.

What Sheriff Arpaio did (repeatedly) was illegal, but that didn't seem to concern Trump. Excuse me if the claim that this was done to address an issue with "legality" sounds disingenuous.

I hope not. Not without border security included.

Furthermore, I think these "dreamers" are victims of those that brought them here illegally. They should have a path to citizenship that their smugglers should not. I hope he gives it to them.

And the border needs to be secured so we are not discussing this in 15 years again.

Great comparison...NOT. I've already told you why Trump is doing this. He was asked to by several governors. I realize saying he hates Mexicans has more spice, but it's not true.

That is what DNW suggested - that Trump was using this as political leverage for border security. If so, don't you think that is disgusting?

So, just to confirm - you guys would not support a legislative equivalent of DACA if no border security is tied to it?
