I understand what it is. The walmart supercenter will still sell groceries (I presume) so therefore there will be 2 Wal Mart grocery stores(+ County Market & Super 1), Ruston is too small to need that many grocery stores.

That's what we said about WM/M and the four new WalMart stores ... And the new Mac's on Ark. Rd...... And the total remodel of Brookshire's in Monroe (N18th.).

If I lived in Ruston, I would do my shopping at Log Cabin to the extent of their selection.

The DQ had to have an impact study done and since it was on a state hwy, they had to have approval through the DOTD to access their location from a state hwy.. Yes, the parish was involved in that decision.
The new convenience center (owned by one of our friends from Church) across the street does not have state access other than the current Burger King entrance. Therefore, they had to get approval from the Parish and the parish engineer (Tech grad) did an impact study.
As I mentioned the eventual plans are to 5 lane Cypress to Avant. Some of the "big thinkers" involved believe the DQ cluster may speed up that project.
MD, I am the owner of the DQ Grill and Chill in West Monroe, I was told by the state that the five lane was going to be done asap but they weren't sure when that was going to be. I paid for the State Troopers to direct traffic for the first seven days then I paid for the OPSO for the next seven days. I thought it would help with traffic issues, and it did. We are still busy but it would be nice to have it with five lanes.
I hope to have one in North Monroe and Ruston soon.

Chic-fil-a does not allow you to buy a franchise if you have any other business ventures. In other words you dedicate your life to CFA and nothing else. They basically build you the building, hand you the keys, and when you are tired of running it hand the keys back. It's a unique situation but it has been very successful.

More lanes wont alleviate the congestion. They'll worsen it.

Not if traffic patterns stay the same

It will be near the intersection of North Service Road & Goodwin Road. It looks like a hotel, the Anytime Fitness place, at least two restaurants on North Service Road, and three other lots between the hotel and the restaurants.

Traffic patterns will certainly change. The change will be an increase. The increase will be caused by the additional lanes.
More lanes always, invariably, inevitably create traffic congestion. It's called induced demand.
Adding lanes has never, ever reduced congestion anywhere, and it wont magically start working on West Monroe when its never worked anywhere.

Thanks for the great information/confirmation.
This would explain why one of our newest sponsors for the year was from a business that had not even opened when the ads began. THANKS for being such a great Tech fan. Hope the North Monroe location does not create a MeTooU situation.;)
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
Please tell me the DQ is going to be by Zaxby's on 165.
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
Aldo, if you need some capital, drop a PM to me - would like to invest in those two locations.

You are welcome! I do what I can for Tech through all of my businesses. We are trying to figure out now what the best way to advertise for Tech football. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Sometimes I think it is best to just donate the money instead of advertising. LOL.
I have been trying to prepare myself for the inevitable sales pitch from ULM. Not sure what I will do.

Yes, I will be located between the strip center and Zaxby's. The owner's of Zaxby's are good people and we will be doing a little shared parking. We should be open for business sometime in July.
