Re: South Endzone Complex Daily Progress Report
The SEZ design is a done deal.
Now for the north end, I would love for concourse or "colonnades" like Virginia's Scott Stadium but with our brick pillars.

We need to incorporate the styling of our campus with our athletic complex.

Troy's is ok, but Penn's is downright weird looking. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Royal Family waving from the balcony.

What style would we incorporate? Wyly Tower? GTM? College of Business? Dudley? Hale? Lambright? Tech Point? Student Apartments? I think the SEZ seems to reflect some of the newer buildings on campus. I agree we should have some cohesion in our looks, but I am not sure what that look is.
Re: South Endzone Complex Daily Progress Report
Colorado's looks okay.
Buz is right though. Not much uniformity in building design across campus. Grow ivy on it and it sings: COLLEGE!

I was talking more about our brick pathways and pillars.

Being down south wouldn't we have to grow kudzu on it? Would not take long before building style was irrelevant!
Re: South Endzone Complex Daily Progress Report
I assume the upcoming campus master plan will address some styling issues for future construction.

Not a fan of the stone choice and roof, but I like the layout and overall look that a good stone/brick would provide.

One can only hope. Too many differences already to matter for a couple of generational cycles.

A former Tech forestry professor, now retired (and possibly no longer with us, tho I hope not) Dr. Ed Caruthers, a "fine fellow," was working for the Georgia soil conservation service waaaay back in the 1940's? I guess, and he was part of a group that went to Africa to study a vine that grows and does a great job of preventing soil erosion on hills and such. They brought it back to Georgia.....yep, kudzu! They were right, it did like the Southern US climate!
Dr. Caruthers was one of my favorite profs at Tech. Referred to his good students with a "you're a fine fellow." Yes, even I earned that honor on occasion.

Agreed, it screams highschool athletics.
