Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
I used to eat Milkbones dog treats when I was a kid. I had to kennel our mutts way behind the house every PM and I'd always grab an extra. "One for Mike, one for Missy, and one for me." Seem to remember liking the way they tasted. Now I know too much about what goes in 'em so I don't eat them anymore.

I never ate a whole one. I ate half of a green one once.
I'm about to go fishing in about 15 minutes. So someone has 15 min to say if I should start with a perch colored Shad Rap or a black and white spinner. What's it gonna be?

Is there a way to set up something to see the newest posts of just one, or a few members. Sometimes I may need cheering up and it would be nice to push one button and be able to laugh at some of DE's posts.
Oh and by the way, I went with the Shad Rap (two posts up).http://www.rapala.com/images/lures/f...d_rap_rs_P.jpg
I really appreciate all the suggestions, oh wait, nobody responded except one PM that came too late. We have a shooting smilie, can we get a fishing and golf one? Who's the boss of the smilies?

I own a meat market, www.maxwellsmarket.com I have a guy that works for me that is a vegetarian (eats seafood as meat only) and says it is a moral choice that he has made. I explained to him that he is kinda' like a drug dealer that considers himself holier than others because he doesn't use, just deals, and if fish screamed when they were caught there'd be a lot less fish-only veggies in this world:icon_wink:.

Are you really a vegetarian when you eat seafood? Isn't that more of a nonmeatetarian? I'm fond of pointing out to the few at work that "donuts" aren't vegetables.

Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Jason Werth hit a high foul ball that caught a 5 year old kid in the face today. The kid fitted with a neck brace and was transported in a stretcher to the emergency room. I can't help but wonder if the parent could have done more to prevent this from happening. However, I believe parents ARE that stupid. I caught a ball in the OF in BP in front of a kid and the little girl's mom got mad at me for not letting her daughter (who was probably around 5ish) make the catch. Before I had even turned around, she was in my face yelling at me.
It's amazing how many people I see get injured in the OF every season.

Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Drove to S'Port yesterday for the first time since the I-Bowl. Good thing I decided to leave an hour early because I forgot about the traffic delay west of Minden. The right lane was closed yesterday so as always, I went ahead and got in the left lane waaaaaay early. I noticed these VIP line breakers kept speeding by in the right lane trying to get as close to the merge section as possible before moving back to the left lane which is the MAIN reason the traffic is backed up in the first place. Thankfully a couple of truck drivers moved over into the right lane and held tight in their positions to stop the line breaking.

Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
I took a 150 question test and knew I was going to be VERY close because I hadn't studied much. They duplicated three questions and just slightly changed the order of mult. choice answers. I had one pair of these narrowed down to two answers and thougth I had selected the right answer on both, but then thought about splitting so that I would be sure to get at least one right. Then I decided that if I missed passing the test by 1 answer I'd never get over it so I went w/my origional answer on both.
I made a 70. It was a God thing!:D

Is it ok to throw pennies out of your window the cars passing by in the grass or shoulder?

That's dumb. If the road isn't closed yet, why can't people drive down it?
Who are they to keep people from driving down an open lane?

The "courtesy line" has been formed. No different than breaking up in any other formed line.

Seriously? It makes the whole thing move faster when they do it. I love it when two 18 wheelers pull side to side to enforce the line.

I went to Sears to replace a 1/4" drive 5/16" deep socket that was lost or stolen, and I took an old Craftsman 3/4" drive ratchet that was broken. I laid the ratchet on the counter and the clerk asked, “so how long was the cheater-pipe?” I said, “do mean my moment-arm extension?”:D

I'm usually all for that as well, however going East on 20 in Bossier there is an extra exit lane for I220. I had some jackass block all the lanes the other day so even though I was not continuing East I still had to wait to exit. They have troopers posted there every afternoon and that seems to cut down on the cutting in line. Which, Dude is what causes traffic to back up in those areas.

Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Yesterday, a police officer working the Rangers game took away my Rays lunchbox (that I had brought as a gift for a friend) because it is a metal container and she claimed "it could be used as a weapon." Earlier, I had been randomly searched by the stadium's security who had approved me bringing in my pocket knife. The police officer confirmed that I was allowed entry with the knife, but not with the metal lunchbox.

This doesn't surprise me a bit.
I am a former Rangers season ticket holder for 5 years. But these days, I can't stand being out there. They've got so much "security" surrounding the place that you feel like you are being watched at all times. It's absurd. When I attended a Yankees game last month, I felt like I was in a Texas Correctional Prison yard.
And the security folks can be very rude. I've seen them throw people out of the ballpark for the most minor things. (No, I've never personally had a run in with them.) If they think you're too loud....OUT you go! Who needs that hassle?
Earlier this week the local TV stations here in Dallas reported that the Rangers are losing money and had to borrow $15M from Major League Baseball last week just to meet its payroll. I loved hearing that. Now maybe they'll have to fire some of those damn Barney Fife security folks they have lined up around the stadium like Huntsville State Prison.

perhaps weapons are allowed as long as they have a texas rangers logo. maybe if you bring a rangers-logo revolver, they would let you bring in your sidearm.

I've always believed the AL is centered around team and the NL is centered around player. That's why you can take random people from an AL team and they'll be just asd good as some of the leagues best, it's a system. The NL just doesn't click that way.
It's just a theory.

Yeah, it's a theory.
13 years ago, what would have been the odds for one league to win 12 straight? Remember there was a "tie" game during the last 13 years.

If you're a Dallas Cowboys fan, stop what you're doing and go take the $13 tour of the new stadium. You'll see parts of the stadium that you won't be able to afford seeing ever again. I wouldn't go THAT far, but I do love me some minor league baseball. I love $1 tickets with $1 hotdogs and $1 cokes. I love $10 all-you-can-eat for a doubleheader. I love $12 VIP sections with a server to bring me the food. I love 50 person attendances where everyone gets a foul ball or two. I love players who actually enjoy signing autographs. I love old people groupies who care more about their MiLB team winning than they do anything else in their whole life.

My shoulder has been hurting just thinking about those cupholders on the back of the new chairback seats in the JOE. Could we get some aftermarket cupholders to put on the rail in front of the lowest row and they could use them and then the people behind each row could use the cupholders in front of them and let the people behind them use theirs that were ill-engineered on the back of thier seat then any people standing on the walkway behind the last upper row would also have a place to temporarily place their drinks. My shoulder is feeling better already.
I hope your swelling goes away, but I think you may be correct about an allergy to the material of which the balls are constructed. Were you possibly wearing sunscreen?

THE CUPHOLDER IN FRONT OF YOU IS THE ONE THAT YOU USE.... If you are on the front row, you may just have to set it on the ground, unless you can buy something that would work on the rail.

chipdog, have you thought about perhaps using a long straw or piece of plastic tubing so you don't have to reach back there to pick up your drink? or maybe you could use the cup holder two rows to your left or right. then you could use it as an excuse to get closer to the good-looking lady sitting next to you (assuming you sit next to a lady). :icon_wink:

chipdog, have you thought about perhaps using a long straw or piece of plastic tubing so you don't have to reach back there to pick up your drink? or maybe you could use the cup holder two rows to your left or right. then you could use it as an excuse to get closer to the good-looking lady sitting next to you (assuming you sit next to a lady). :icon_wink:
Now that is some good advice. I may disassemble my beer drinking helmet and use the plastic tubing for this new and much better purpose. I never could get it calibrated correctly anyway to draw equally from both cans, so by half-time my neck was sore from being tilted to one side.
Either way I’ll be OK because Chance, at the ticket office, said he was pretty sure the people who have the seats in front of me wouldn't mind if I used their cupholders on the back of their chairs. I guess they must not really want to reach back there either. But now for some reason I can’t get the ticket office to call me back anymore, maybe they are too busy working out cupholder deals for other people.

breast-feeding babies is FAR superior to bottle feeding (especially at night).

the cruel irony of breast feeding is that the bosoms are the biggest, roundest and firmest they will ever be.
and they are completely off limits. :bigcry:

Dude, you need to renegotiate that contract. It was a sad day when my youngest child was weaned. :(

I just discovered the "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" albums by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
It should be required listening for kids.
