So, i guess UL-L can use the same logic
New Orleans Bowl — Attendance: 34,014 (down from 2013); Rating: 1.6 (up from 2013); Viewership: 2.2 million (up slightly from 2013)

Heart of Dallas Bowl drew a 1.5 final rating and 2.3 million

I wish I had studied marketing (not really) because I'd march up to the 16th floor with a 50 page report and a 15 minute presentation tomorrow morning about a marketing strategy.

Exactly! I studied it for 4 years, but didn't get a degree in that field. I would think we would be hiring the best we could afford right now with this as their full time job. It is just too important.

Bingo! My point is also partially that any marketing major/grad with half a brain can see the desperate need and the tremendous opportunity to fill that need.

Yep! If I were President of Tech, I would hire a full time person who has a sole purpose of moving us up to a P5 conference in X number of years. That may mean going to another G5 conference first. Pay a premium salary to the right qualified person and bunuses for certain steps along the way - then, the promise of a full time job after that, so there is an incentive to reach the goal.
Re: Do we have a shot at the AAC if the Big 12 expands?
We have to continue success on the football field and start winning in Olympic sports as well. ULL has us beat badly in almost all other sports.

That sort of thinking is exactly why YOU and many others on this board are NOT Tech Pres.

We have the advantage in name, facilities, and conference. The belt is the lowest in the pecking order of conferences. We have much bigger competition from many other G5 teams than ULL. If another conference is going to pick a Louisiana team, it would be us right now.

We don't know who this Prez has hired, but given the shirt time he has been here. I'm certain. He is on top of it. This ain't Dan Reneau.

Im sure you're right. However, I want to see some indication of progress. The SEZ and Tech 2020 are good examples. The free reign Bowtie (or >< for short) has had over sports marketing is the exact opposite of progress and makes me think there is a deeper lack of accountability at play.

I agree with you. I am suggesting a whole new position strictly dedicated to this person. I do believe that if any Prez would do it, it would be this one.

That said, I honestly don't care if we ever join the AAC. CUSA is a damn fine and exciting conference, and I want to continue to make it better. There's no way the AAC is worth the entry fee to join. I honestly can't even tell you who played in the AAC's conference championship football game this year. Because it's inconsequential. It just doesn't matter. All I know about AAC football this year is that SMU was awful, and that they beat UCONN in their only win. Exciting, huh!!
We didn't have a . conference championship game because . we only had 11 teams you retard. 2015 will have our first conference championship since Navy is joining this summer.
That being said, CUSA is more La Tech's speed and is best suited for it especially when looking at data such as academics, market, tv ratings, facilities and attendance.
Re: Do we have a shot at the AAC if the Big 12 expands?
A Houston fan arguing academics?? Markets don't matter if nobody is watching. I am sure a ton of people saw UTSA beat up on UH this year. Facilities mean everything and so does attendance at this point.
