I know Army would have more name recognition than any other CUSA team, but along with the fact that everyone has heard of them is the fact that everyone knows they aren't good at football anymore. And if we added a team in New York, it'd make sense that they play in the East - which means Tech plays them, what? Every 4 years or something? And what would we think if they moved MTSU and WKU together to the West (to keep their rivalry - because, you know, cross-divisional teams in a 14 team conference only play every few years) - and they move Southern Miss to the East? That would really suck. And on top of that we'd be giving a decent basketball program the advantage of narrowing all their focus on one sport while still competing with the rest of us who have to stretch our limited resources.
None of that appeals to me. I like Army, and they certainly have more history than F_U or most of the rest of the current conference. But I'm not sure one game every 4 years is worth the hybrid conference.
