We're staying at the Courtyard close to campus. Do you think it's walkable? I think it is about a mile from the stadium but I was wondering if we could take some shortcuts on foot? I don't think my group wants to walk a mile.

Nope. I wouldn't want to walk that. It's uphill along a pretty busy street, and every bit of a mile. Load into one car and pay 20 bucks to park at UBC (or take your chances on a legal spot on the street).

No sidewalk, either.

Thanks dude!
Re: Armed Forces Bowl It Is
According to Neil Paine's ELO rankings for the best bowl games on ESPN's FiveThirtyEight, ours come in as number 8 (best in CUSA), only behind the Fiesta, Pinstripe, Orange, Cotton, Belk, Sugar, and Peach.
In terms of CUSA, the rankings are 1 Armed Forces (8; Tech), 2 Hawaii (12; MT), 3 Boca Raton (20; WK), 4 New Orleans (23; SM), 5 New Mexico (24; TSA), 6 Bahamas (35; DU), 7 Dallas (40; NT)

Where's this UBC lot?
We are planning to hoof it from our hotel, as it's supposed to only be about a mile. We walk at least 2.5 miles a day, usually more when time/weather allow it. But, if the weather is atrocious then being out in it for the game will be bad enough.
Re: Armed Forces Bowl It Is
Can tickets still be ordered through Tech?
Re: Armed Forces Bowl It Is
Saw a tweet from the bowl this past week that over 20K Armed Forces Bowl tickets have been sold/distributed. With walkups attendance should be around 25K-30K.
Re: Armed Forces Bowl It Is
Weather seems to change everyday. Right now highs in 50's with 0% chance rain. However, winds will be a factor-which hurts us the most.

I imagine so. I bought mine from Tech the day after the last day they would mail them to you. Said my ticket would be available at will call. With that, I don't really know for sure where my seat is, but I assume its decent...

I have to take part of that back. When I checked my mailbox last night after I replied, there was my ticket in an envelope. Glad it came before I left town. I would call the ticket office to see what the deal is this close to the game.

Here is a map. Our lot is the one on the corner of Wabash and McPherson (and the grass lot across Wabash). If you're staying on University, it may only be a mile, but it will be all uphill more than likely (both ways*!).
*ok, just on the way to the stadium.
Re: Armed Forces Bowl It Is
Is there any coordination with Barksdale AFB considering it's the armed forces bowl? Offering tickets and bus ride or something.

Thanks. This will be the wife's call. I'm just being prepared for whatever she decides.
