That would be a waste to make us play ULM. Bowls enjoy that TECH brings a crowd. I️ can’t imagine there would be a big crowd of TECH fans to watch that match up. I️ don't even think I’d watch it on TV.

Yeah, I won't buy a ticket for ULM. Don't care what their season was like, not a game I care to see anymore period.

ULM has a good shot at 6-6. They are 4-4, with:
Ga Southern Home
South Bama Away
Arkie State Away
ULALA Home
I can't see them losing 3/4 to finish 5-7. Possible, but not likely. Actually, it's possible ULALA will be sitting at 5-6 and needing that W for themselves.
Hopefully, it won't matter to us if a 6-6 ulm is bowling. Why would a bowl want to match two north Louisiana schools? USM might finish 6-5 (they had a sure L cancelled), and if it's ULALA, the N.O. Bowl would prefer a USM vs. ULALA matchup. They may even opt for a USM vs. ulm rematch. Another CUSA possible is MTSU, they might finish 7-5 and could be a choice for the N.O. Bowl.
I hope we get 8 wins...long shot, but possible....and are therefore more attractive to the Heart of Dallas or some other bowl where we can get a decent opponent.
Keep in mind, we don't really deserve any consideration for a better bowl. If we can manage, by hook or crook, to get to 8-4 and depending on what else happens with other CUSA teams, we might get lucky, by default. If I were a bowl committee, I would look really hard at all other options before I settled on the dynamic duo of Holtz/Smith. BORING!!! Our calling card has been exciting football...not so right now.

If that game is more important than any single conference match in Skip's mind, thats a big problem in itself. His philosophy should be undefeated every year, and then realistically, win the conference, win the FCS/out of conference G5 game, and then knock off one of the body bag games each year.

But let's hope the Dawgs and coaching staff "pick it up fast" and give the Tech family and faithful what we want. After all there are still 5 games left!
Prep for these last 5 games and play like you have the past 4 Bowl games Skip.

Your guess is as good as mine, HD. Why are we always ready to play a bowl and not ready when our conference is on the line? I’m just calling it how I see it. We would score 50 on ULM in a bowl.
