did you just put counting crows and savage garden in the same category? that just tells me you never really listened. savage garden is stink without lysol.
Re: What are you listening to Today?
A bit defensive of the Counting Crows are we? I should have also included Hootie and the Blownads in the list.
Re: What are you listening to Today?
New week, new music. After watching "The Last Waltz" several times last weekend I've been listening to "Music From Big Pink" and The Bands Greatest Hits. "Chest Fever" is just a cool ass song.

Don't you mean "New week, old music?"

No I guess what I meant was different music. But I don't really think of music in terms of time. If it's good it stands the test of time.

Agreed (with the red part).

Well if you agree with that part, then the first part only stands to reason.
Re: What are you listening to Today?
Well, I do think of music in terms of time. You don't think that is a useful way to identify music? If only for trivia purposes? You gonna tell me you aren't aware that the Band comes after Bach but before Tupac? I don't generally discriminate against music based on when it was released, but sometimes I "think of it in terms of time."

not defensive. the c crows aren't mine. they are just easily distinguishable from corporate crap music. of course, i don't think of them in the same category as toad, either. i can understand the "i don't like that type of music" statement, but you're painting with a pretty broad brush.

Yeah smart ass I'm aware that one thing happens before the next but I just don't consider music made several years ago as "old music".

OK. I think I know what you are saying, and let me again say that I don't have anything against music I call "old" - and that The Band album came out 40 years ago.
