I saw a bag of Zapp's "Who Dat?" potato chips today.....I smiled.

School started back today and my classroom that I teach in is no longer painted in Northwestern St. (former occupant's
Alma Mater) colors...... win for the home team!

Anybody else get excited about the back to school fees we pay in public school each year? Just curious BLUE collar. How much do y'all get for supplies? It's rediculous what Ouachita Parish Schools budget to the class rooms for supplies.

You mean the wife doesn't bring all that tissue home after first day of school? I Know you get the sniffles when you watch Lady Techster highlights.

In Claiborne Parish public schools I paid a whopping $10 for Kyle's school fees...

What my wife spent on supplies????

I will have to get back to you on that one. Last year was my first year and I didn't find a job until September so I didn't ahve to deal with it.

Memphis City Schools give each kid a list and they are expected to bring everything on the list. Of course, half the kids live in poverty and don't bring anything but a new pair of Nikes.

All the supplies that the kids bring are put in one pile and used by all.

That's how A.E. Phillips does it (at least that's how they did it for kindergarten a couple of years ago).

That's here too. I understand many kids not being able to afford the supplies and fees. I can only suppose that the school board budgets so little because they know a few will provide for the many. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

FWIW, we put our child's name on the supplies they provide against the "orders" of the school board. They don't like that.:icon_wink:

Same here.

i saw a license plate frame today that said "LSU Alumni", and that got me to thinking. Shouldn't license plate frames and stuff like that say "LSU Alum"? I guess unless the driver is a siamese twin and they both got their degree there
