Until Oct. 13.
Hate to tell everyone I told you so, but I told you so.
Bunch of f******* pussies. I'm so pissed I had to leave work.
wow......
Son of a B*tch! Pansies....
I'm not going to make it to the Oct 13 game. I have to work that weekend. Great...
We will still be undefeated by Oct 13 drawing a very large crowd and make more $$ then a hurricane game.
WTF!!!!!!! We don't even know if Shreveport is going to get any rain.
This really sucks! Took the whole week off this week......... This is going to be a little rain on the East side of the storm and it will have likely passed by kickoff.........
Are tailgating spots still going to be honored?
Anyone could have seen this coming. I told everyone it would be postponed or moved and I was ridiculed for saying it. The problem on this board is everyone only listens to a few posters who run the place. This is better for Tech. Our schedule was top heavy as it is and we now will have two weeks to prepare for Houston. I live in Lake Charles which is over 200 miles away from the storm and we have 20 MPH winds today, gusting over 30. Our passing game would have been in big trouble so congratulations to the admin for recognizing that.
Won't a Sat. game be better anyways?
This is awesome news.
1) A&M will be looking ahead to LSU
2) Most likely better conditions, I didnt like our chances in the rain.
3) They'll be beat up from an LSU schedule
4) We'll be undefeated and psyched beyond belief for this game
GO DAWGS!
Don't try to reason jchaisson, people will only listen to the few posters who want to come compalin.
Inbe4 "Bruce sucks. Dan sucks. Small time. Scared. Pansies. Blue hairs"
Saturday game, good weather, not the Thursday before labor day, good record, more marketing. Good decision. Again, told you so.
LA Tech Sports @LATechSports
For the safety of fans and student-athletes, Louisiana Tech’s game vs. Texas A&M has been postponed until Oct. 13. #LATechSports

This is stupid. We had no problem playing S. Miss last year in a tropical storm.
I really hope it was a mutual argument when this decision was made, because if it was mainly TAMU wanting this, we should've demanded it be in Ruston.
In the long run, this is much better for the program. For the short term, I am pissed. I was so pumped and ready to watch some Tech football.
I think it's a great move. Low ticket sales. Storm "possibility" makes it worse for walkups. We go out and kick butt the first few weeks and rake the rewards on October 13th's crowd with another "State Fair Game" win! Was so looking forward to Dawg Ball thursday rain or shine, but good chess move by BVDV IMHO.
Was an easier game to win when it was opening week.
Shitty decision, this sucks. Makes football look weak.
As ticked as I am....i do have to agree that this is probably a good move for hype and ticket sales purposes. But, we better win our other games between now and then. A&M will play Ark., UofMiss, and then look past our game to their game against LSU on the 20th.
Well...at least we'll get actual game film on them now.
I'm still not happy about postponing the game. I was ready this week.
Shit. Well I won't be there. Got a wedding
But atleast we played, and it was a great game.
Do you think LaTech will be giving refunds for Tickets.. I paid for 5 $50 tickets but have a trip planned the weekend of October 13th. I deliberately planned the trip for this weekend as to not interfere with football season. Bought flight tickets and everything. This Sucks!!!
Also, if anyone would like to buy about 100 chicken wings from me..
I think it is a bit premature to postpone it...will the weather be worse than we played last year in Hattiesburg?
I have never heard of a school canceling a game because they thought their might be rain and high winds coming 2 days later. This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen in my life. What a bunch of f*****g P*****s. We have played games during tropical storms before. Once at A&M and last year at Southern Miss i don't remember their being a rash of people dying on the roads from driving in the rain. Mickey Mouse.
For everyone saying it won't be on TV, doesn't the SEC have a contract stating that all SEC games will be on some form of TV? I was under the impression that was the reason the Ole Miss game was on last year...
I want this game in Ruston now.
Don't like Houston having a game under their belts to work some of the kinks out before they play us.
Time will tell if this was the right decision.
"Both Louisiana Tech and Texas A&M had the same open date of Oct. 13 on their schedules which allowed the game to be moved back. Kickoff time will be determined at a later date but fans are reminded that tickets and parking permits that have already been purchased will be honored, but there will be no refunds."
Okay Coop spill the beans. Let us here the walls have to say.
i didn't read through 3 pages of crying but my guess is they moved the game not really b/c it may or may not rain but it probably has more to do with the fact that the state needs to be prepared to handle evacuations from down south.
This was suppose to be my "evacuation" from power outages. They should have waited.
"Our primary concern was for the health and safety of the general public, students and fans of both institutions." Yet the game is still being held at Indy? But seriously, what is the health/safety concern? Travel to/from the game? Possible bad weather during the game? Fans/players catching a cold? The weather channel getting higher ratings that our game on the U? Health/safety concern is just a convenient way to conceal the real driver for postponement. It'd be interesting to know the real driver...
Awe, bless your heart. Do you need a little validation? Here you go:

There are thousands of people that will be driving to this game from South Texas, SELA and SWLA. The weather is already bad down here. Either play it in the wind and the rain with thousands not able to attend or in danger if they do, or move it to a day when the weather will be better and there will be a lot more students in town. Not to mention, good weather favors us and we will have film on A&M. Two weeks to prepare for HOU, good move.
BUCK BUCK BWAAAACK !!!!

Works out better for me. Now I can attend instead of a Thursday night game. And like some have said, a rain soaked, windy game favored the Ags.
Crap, this means our team doesn't get a week off between their first and last regular season games.
This makes the most sense. Those people aren't going to leave their families, homes, or business if there is flooding, power outages etc. The storm will affect the entire state and parts of Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas. This is where the fans will be traveling.

A bigger question is will there be an LSU home game the same day. I know quite a few LSU fans who were planning on driving up for the game and a reunion of sorts that will probably not make the game now if it conflicts with a LSU big game or home game. Well, at least we got their money.:D:laugh:
So now we need to start a thread to sell and purchase tickets for this game. While many won't be able to make the new date I think many more WILL be able to make it.
I think this is a bad decision that is very good for us. The weather would have benefited us in the long run, but in the short run it was bad for us while it lasted, and the administration should have anticipated that if they could have. Any way, a game in October is not the same as a game in September and that is a good thing for now, but not in October.
I don't disagree. Fortunately, I've met most of those posters, so I get more of a kick out of those who fawn over their "knowledge" than putting faith in their statements. All in all, it was only meant as a joke. Some people just don't appreciate my sense of humor. You sure you're not my ex-wife?
The weather for Shreveport on Thursday is now predicted to be an 80% chance of heavy rain with wind around 30 MPH.
TAMU did not want to delay this game. I've already had one Aggie fan this afternoon tell me that they really needed this "warm up" game before facing Florida next week.
I actually think this is much better for LA Tech. Now we get to open against a Houston team who is going thru much the same as TAMU: they have a new head coach and a new 1st year QB.
HD
How does everybody think this will work out for us on October 13? Will this turn out to be a good or bad thing? I'm kind of torn. Some say A&M will solidify and be REALLY good come 10/13. I still wish this game would have been Thursday.
Postponing hurts us in the long run. Not that it hurts our chances of stomping the dog crap out of those pansies from College Station but we will be playing a 2-3 or maybe even a 1-4 Tx A/m team rather than getting the BCS Buster hype by beating them right off the bat. By the time Florida and SC is done with them they may be too beat-up to travel at all! We'll be ready come Oct 13th! Cooler weather-Sat game-Bring it! GO DAWGS!
This makes for plus and minus for both sides. Tech has a chance to build some crazy good momentum going into Oct 13, and TAMU could be 3-2 and looking to play LSU. On the other hand, TAMU will have 5 games under Summlin's system. I still think it's a positive overall.
I will NEVER, EVER buy tickets for another Thursday night Louisiana Tech football game!
BVDV bite me!!!!!
I also will not be able to attend on the Oct 13 date. I also scheduled around the Tech FB schedule and will not be able to reschedule.
That being said, I was really beginning to worry about driving up from BR. Yesterday, the storm was supposed to clear BR by 6pm Wednesday. and be past Shreveport by game time. Now the storm will be over BR well into Thursday and over Shreveport at game time. I was not too keen on driving up in a storm. I'm getting too old for that.
I am also in the "unable to attend on 10/13" club. :furious3:
However, we will have game film on Houston. They will have none on us. We will also come in healthy where as they could be a little beat up. We have more time to prepare for the game.. I would put us at +10 against Houston. Before the announcement of the postponement, I would have put as at +6.
Same here. Got a big kayak trip in Missouri I'm leading.
But the storm track has shifted considerably west this afternoon, nearly tripling rain projections for Shreveport:
http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/tropical/qpf/tcqpf.php
Tough call for the athletic department, I do respect them for making the decision and having to "weather the storm of criticism". BUT I'D DARN SURE BE THERE WITH THE 30 MPH WINDS AND 4 - 5 INCHES OF RAIN ROOTING FOR THE DAWGS!!!!!
How am i going to tear the other tickets without tearing out the A&M? Hmm...a challenge.
