Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
We made our plans to go to the Rice game on Oct 30th last night. Will do the LTAC tailgate before the game. I badly want to make the bus trip to Moo St on Oct 17th but have a conflict I can't get out of.
Who else is planning their Bulldog Football Road Trips?

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
We (3 of us) made our plans earlier in the spring. We will travel to the Mississippi State game on Oct. 17th and the Rice game on Halloween eve. (All Hallows Eve - eve)

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
My wife and I had planned to attend the Western Kentucky game until it moved to Thursday. Too far a drive for a work night and not enough vacation to attend.
Hoping for a CCG rematch, preferably in Ruston, but Huntington is only 3 hours away. Very tempted to try to make the Middle Tennessee game though.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Hoping to go to San Antonio.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Should be able to make the short trip from Jackson to Starkville. Went to the USM/MS state game in Starkville last year, hopefully we give them a better game than USM did.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Miss State: could be four HAUGHTON BUCS on the field that Saturday. Annual fall vacation around a road game, going on through Tennessee and South Carolina but getting back to Ruston for the following Saturday vs MTSU. Then hopefully to Dallas or an "access bowl" for some post season action.

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Either Moo State or Rice. Probably Moo State.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
None :(
Sportdawg Jr started football this year! Friday in Houston not good with two kiddos & the UTSA game is during Cub Scout campout weekend.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Wife and I will make the Rice game.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
I'll be at thw WKU game, and I'm even bringing some (real) UL fans, maybe even a UK fan or two. I spoke to the Alumni center and they are not doing any tailgate or anything since it's a Thursday night game.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Probably Moo State since Kyle said that's what he wants for his birthday and maybe UTSA...
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
If we take our cow bells to the Moo State game, we shouldn't have any problem getting them into the stadium.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
The wife and I already have reservations for KanST, MissST, and UTSA but may switch from UTSA to Rice.

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Gonna be hearing cow bells like many of you.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
I am hoping for San Antonito- waiting for my kids soccer schedules to see if that will happen or not.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?

-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Looks like cow bells ARE allowed at the stadium for the Mississippi State Game! I'm taking mine!!! Here are the rules for prohibited items for Davis Wade Stadium:
Prohibited Items:
Alcohol, bags/backpacks (larger than 14 in. x 14 in. x 8 in.), balls, banners, beverages, bottles, cameras with detachable lenses, containers, drugs, fireworks, flags, food, frisbees, handheld radios and televisions (permitted with headsets), ice chests, irritants, firearms, knives, noisemakers (except cowbells), picnic baskets, signs, thermoses, video cameras or weapons are prohibited in the stadium. Gate personnel are instructed to enforce this rule. Stadium security has the right to inspect any item at any time for the purpose of spectator safety. Prohibited items must be returned to cars or disposed of before entering the stadium.

And Rice is a "home" game for me. San Antonio is only 200 miles, and it's all interstate, so about three hours.

Speed limit and will you drive the traditional 10mph over?
Ever thought about making a 200 mile trip in 2 hours? It can be done in Texas.
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Rice, UTSA and bowl game, maybe UTEP on Southwest.

Not any more. Like you said 10 miles over the speed limit. That would be 85 after you get out two counties away from Harris County (That Austin County going west -- Brookshire and Sealy not Austin, Tx. For those of you who don't know Austin is in Travis County and Houston is in Harris County - Houston County is somewhere up east where Crockett is)

Just got back from a trip to West Texas (Lubbock area). Even the two lanes were 75. Never saw a State Trooper on any of the two lanes and very few on the 4 lanes. I guess Texas is not big on producing revenue from speeding tickets and seat belt violations.

The state isn't but watch out for the small towns, especially near the first of the month. There are speed traps in Texas. However, cities and towns cannot make more than 1/2 their revenue from traffic tickets. Anything more goes to the state, so the small towns don't want to go to the trouble if they can't keep the money. Some towns have gotten into trouble for not sending the overage to the state and have lost their police department certification. Kendleton on US 59 south near me is one example.

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Every home game is like an away game for me. In addition to those I've already got travel and tickets booked for MissSt and Kansas State.

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Taking cowbells to Miss St games as a Tech fan is about the same as wearing red to a Tech game at Cajun field...
Smart fans just don't do it

So you're saying the band will wear red when we play ULL this year? I fear you may be correct.

I make as much noise as I can when the "OTHER TEAM" has the ball on 3rd and 4th down. My two cowbells help out. I use them in the JOE and will use them at the Miss ST game! I don't see a problem with that!

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
I'll (+1) will be at the WKU game. Can't wait!

Hope to make all the games in Ruston, and host as many Tech fans as I can at the Rice game. Also never been to San Antonio so I am looking forward to visiting there as well.

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
I was really looking forward to going to the WKU Game... But it's on a "school night" and I won't get back to Louisville until after 1am. I don't think the boss man would appreciate snoring in the office.

Tell him it's a family emergency.

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Yep, the Tech Family could use your support!
-
Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
I'm making the trip to WKU. Is it worth it to sit in the "Tech section" for the same price as MUCH better seats in the "WKU sections?" I feel like my money is better spent watching the game from the 40 yard line than it is in the corner of the endzone. I also want to be amongst my people, though. Thoughts?

Stadium will be empty when we are up by 20. You can move get the Tech fans down with you in the second half.

What'd you decide? Looking like buying through their ticket office will save you some fees. Thinking we're going to sit in "WKU Sections" to have a better view, but have not pulled the trigger yet. If WKU beats Vandy the good seats may get snatched up by their fans.

I went for WKU tickets. Section 331 Row U. Right about at the 40 yard line. Should be a great game!
I even thought about going to watch WKU-Vandy this weekend (I'm near Nashville), but I'd have to miss Tech, which ain't happenin'!

Re: Which Away Games Road Trips are You Making?
Bought a group of 10 tickets from StubHub for the Mississippi State game. Bringing a group of 8 Tech fans and 2 MSU fans. Hopefully this time we won't throw an INT from FG range at the end of the 4th :((
