From the "crowning jewel" comment, to the national Tier 1 banners, to the video highlights, to the trivia question, to the Regal Blues placement, and right down to the final score--I thought we did a great job getting in their heads and putting them in their place.
Louisiana Tech is the "Crown Jewel" of the University of Louisiana System. And the President of the University of Louisiana System was there to hear it announced as such over the PA before the game.
We are certainly "Elite", but being the Crown Jewel of the UL System is awesome! Separation, Separation, Separation...

With Tech inside its 10 yard line and they announce Dixon's 99 yard run as the Trivia winner, I was thinking ....
On several occassions last night I notced the ULL band playing when they weren't supposed to. Several times there were conflicts between our video board (Dawgzilla) and ULL's band. So our video board operator simply turned up the volume on the video board to a level that just blasted them away. It was very funny. :laugh:
Excellent job by all involved to take as many shots as possible at them. They were just as entertaining as the game itself. The final score was the cherry on top (or maybe the final jewel on the crown)! :D

Let me add this... ULL deserved every little shot of disrespect we gave them. There was no shortage of "University of Louisiana" heard over the PA in Laffy last year.
Having been inside the stadium pregame, the comment was "Louisiana Tech is the 'Crown Jewel' of the University of Louisiana System". There was no "crowning" comment.
