Anyone planning to travel to Memphis for this game? I'm looking to rent a suite if anyone is interested.

Probably will make the trip from Jonesboro, but probably not able to go in on suite.

There aren't many "good" seats available on Stubhub but upper levels tickets are $10 or less. "Good" seat availability should pick up when the date is closer. If I don't gain much interest in the suite, I'll arrange a LaTech pregame celebration somewhere on Beale Street, most likely Silky's.

You think the Big 10 refs were bad....UTA had 33 PFs and Memphis shot 44 FTs (31 in the second half) !!!!!!!!!!

Are we following just behind UTA this year on our schedule? I wish that they wouldn't upset teams before we get there and let us do the honors. ;) This all HAS to be good for our rpi, though!

It's the "Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational" multi-team event.

The UT Arlington wins aren't really good or bad for our RPI because those wins resulted in Ohio State and Memphis losses. What matters to our RPI is what Ohio State, Memphis, UT Arlington, Grambling, and our other OOC opponents do when they aren't playing each other.

I think this is a great measuring stick for our program. Of course the OSU win was big but beating a more regional team that we will recruit against, esp in MS. They have fallen from the top the past few seasons but are well known for being a top teir basketball school in this area. I think a lot of people in the area will see this win on par with OSU

No. 10, Jerimiah Martin, is a TECH signee who switched to Memphis when White left.

He is averaging 2 points a game in 15 minutes of play. I am anxious to see him play.

So far, Jean's numbers are much better. 9.8 per game while averaging 21 minutes with a much higher shooting percentage. I suspect the point guard coming in next year will at least be comparable to if not significantly better than Martin.

I am very excited about this game. We have to bring everything we have and more. They are a team on a mission, since already being upset on their court. We have to come in under control, but with an attitude. They will be ready for us, so there will be no sneaking up on them.

I think Jean needs more minutes. He is great on defense. I feel like Alex, McCree, and Jean all need more minutes. I don't know if he is slowly building up their stamina. I have only watched 2 games. The Ohio St. game on tv and the NC Central game in person. Those 3 guys are out best 3 players. It seemed like they came out too much in my opinion in both games...just my armchair coaching

Jean has brought a ton of energy and raw talent, with this comes occasional foul trouble. That has been a major contributing factor to reduced minutes. He is going to be very fun to watch for 4 years. We are very lucky that he re=committed.

I thought a couple of those fouls on Friday were cheap. The same ref called them both...the ref who took time to listen to every complaint the other coach had.

Were any of those three refs familiar to y'all? I don't remember any of them.

I was shocked when the refs finally called a charge on an OSU player late in the second half. There were arguably three first half charges by OSU that they called us for blocks. P5 cheating referees...

My uneducated guess is that we will need to shoot 3s better than we did at home on Friday. Otherwise take the Tigers and the under.

Hamilton and McCree need to both have big games for us to win.

I agree with you. We missed way too many WIDE-OPEN looks Friday. Memphis is going to get some dunks on us. We don't need to get into deal where we're trying to show them up. Let them do their playground moves and get excited about a cross-over, we need to be steady.

I would love to beat Memphis State in their prized sport.

Memphis beat writer was just on Fox's show. He gave Tech some love then wrapped up his praise by saying Tech hasn't been good in basketball since Karl Malone. Not impressed by his knowledge. Do these "experts" ever look before they speak?

Alex and Eric are each averaging about 30 minutes/game, and Derric is averaging about 21. Looks about right to me at this point in the season ??

We look like a different team on offense. No ball movement, and thus no open looks. Ass whippin.

On offense we fake the 3, drive the lane and look like ass with the tie ups, travels, airballs,...
Meanwhile everyone is standing around watching like a statue.

Zero energy. Looks like they don't even want to be there.

We aren't rebounding, boxing out, competing, shooting (below 30% from all areas) and we're turning the ball over. Oh, and we're not even moving on D or O. Just standing and watching.

We've got to find a way to create offense. Too much standing around. We are trying to force one on one matchups and we are losing most of those.

To play well we have to play with energy. No energy = another butt whipping. Whether it is football, basketball, or bowling WE NEED TO PLAY WITH ENERGY!

While I agree with you, if the Memphis sportswriter assumes that you are not a "good" unless you get through the first round of the NCAA tournament, he is correct.

This game is 100% on Mcree and Davis, they are supposed to be Senior leaders setting example and tone for team. Very disappointed in them.

Finally an adjustment on defense
