Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
I see what you did there. I like it!
Bristo on the mound right?

LA Tech’s game vs. @HailStateBB is scheduled to start at 6:30, but this is the scene at Dudy Noble. Stay tuned.

Is Clancy even with the team. No mention of him at all. All hands on deck, even if you have to pitch through some soreness.

Roster had to be trimmed to 27 for the regional. Not sure if he is one who made the cut, but I saw a couple not on the list. One of them a senior. That had to be tough for Goff to make that call.

Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Right now, Louisiana Tech is one of the 37 teams left in the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. 27 teams have already been eliminated.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
OK Davis - Psychologically, is there now more pressure on Mississippi State than Louisiana Tech?nothing to lose for Ruston 'Dogs.

As far as I'm concerned, LA Tech is now playing with House Money. It's all good for us.
That said, this is a golden opportunity to take the programs to a MUCH HIGHER level RIGHT NOW!
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
@HailState: We are currently in a weather delay at DNF. We will keep you updated as info becomes available. #NCAAStarkville

I totally agree, but I think we've been playing with house money since we beat Rice in the 2nd game at Hattiesburg.

I agree with that. None of us ever expected us to be here in this situation right now. We might as well CASH THE CHECK!

Before the scheduled start time?

Yes, there is a string of storms (ironically they string right back to our area) that is moving NE. Looks like they are breaking up, but there is one that looks like it could last another 30 minutes or so.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Since this regional started I've payed no attention to the alarming facts/stats of losing your first game. This team is scrappy and unpredictable, anything is possible.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Isabella: Looks like the earliest we'll get started here is 7:45 p.m.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Wouldn't break my heart at all to have to wait for tomorrow!
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Malcolm Butler: Game time for @LATechBSB now pushed back to 8:04 pm due to weather. Rain coming down again. Stay tuned.

Exactly!
There is another cell SW of Starkville now that looks like it may slide north of town. If it does not, it may be done by 7:30ish.

Interesting. Not 8:00 PM CST, or 8:05 PM CT. No....rather it's scheduled for 8:04 PM CST. :icon_roll:

Y'all have sunbelch mentality. BS!
This Diamond Dawgs' team is as good as any who might advance to the CWS.
Omaha or bust!!!
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
My best guess: players can't go on field until 30 minutes after last strike. Then 45 minutes to warm up
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
WEATHER UPDATE | It's still raining in Starkville....
Earliest we could start now would be 8:30 p.m. CT

So.....is this a one (1) game championship? Or if LA Tech wins, do we have to come back and beat Miss St again tomorrow???
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
We have to beat them twice

Do it guys, your team is scrappy enough to beat 'em twice. Play like there's no tomorrow because if you lose, well, there's no tomorrow.
And if you can knock 'em off, and we can do our part, we'll meet for a Civil War in Lafayette. That is, of course, as long as your AD doesn't turn us down holding out for a better regional offer.

Nope. Assuming we win tonight, I didn't know if we had to play them a second time after tonight if both teams have one loss and we would have the head to head advantage.

Are Cajun fans pulling for us to win?

Isabella- I guess Brent Diaz did get hurt on that warmup play. Michael Deceglie is starting at catcher. Big loss for Louisiana Tech

What would be better for us if we win our regional? Playing Miss State at their house or playing you guys in Lafayette?
It's a no-brainer. We all feel dirty and have a need to shower, but yeah, we're pulling for you guys. Do it. It can be done and your team can do it.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Defensive change for LA Tech: Michael Deceglie is going to catch this one. Diaz looked to have tweaked something in pregame warmups.

4-0 against lafayette sounds good to me
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
B1: Ground ball to 2B for two quick outs. FYI, it just started raining at Dudy Noble Field......

Seriously, good luck tonight. Losing your catcher's gonna hurt though.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
End 1: Braden Bristo pitches a 1-2-3 first inning and we're scoreless through an inning of play!
2 K's
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
T2: Cody Daigle lines a single up the middle for the first hit of the game! Deceglie now batting w/ no outs.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
T2: Deceglie's sac bunt moves Daigle to second base. Jordan Washam batting with 1 out and a runner in scoring position.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
T2: Jordan Washam goes down swinging for the second out. Chandler Hall batting with two outs. Daigle on second base.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Mid 2: Daigle is left stranded on second after a lead-off single. Hall flew out to CF to retire the side. We're scoreless.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
At the game. Diaz got hurt literally at the last play of warm-ups. Ran into the wall behind home plate chasing a ball.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Gotta work on not dragging the bat through the zone.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Do they have anyone that is hitting <.300?

ESPN crew has no clue what's going on. Isabella tweeted about it live

also went into the bar of the dugout in the eighth inning of CSF game
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Infield single for state - nice play by hall but had no chance at the out
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
SB for state. 1 out runner on 2nd
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
B2: Mississippi State has runners on 1st/2nd after a base hit and walk. One out.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Wow, that Jacob Robson is ridiculously fast!
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Isabella - Bristo almost throws one into CF on a pickoff attempt. Hits MSU runner in the leg and stays in the infield
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
B2: A hit by pitch loads the bases with 1 out for Mississippi State. 8-hole hitter Ryan Gridley at the plate.
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Isabella- Graham Ahlrich sprints out to the bullpen. Remember Greg Goff has a quick trigger. Doesn't wait long before making moves
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Isabella: Bristo produces a ground ball right back to the plate for what should have been inning-ending DP. Instead, ball goes to RF for 1-0 MSU lead
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Isabella; Charge the throwing error to catch Michael Deceglie. The ball hit Ryan Gridley in the helmet and bounced to the outfield
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Baseball- almost a double-play, but the ball knicks the runner's helmet and MSU scores.
:((
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Runner was inside the baseline
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Isabella: Raphael Gladu makes a sliding catch in the gap to prevent any more damage.
End 2: Mississippi State 1, Louisiana Tech 0
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
Are you going to requote every Isabella tweet for the next 3 hours?

Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
That is a SIMPLE call for a professional ump and, make no mistake, these guys are. BOTH the first base ump and home plate ump missed it.
Just can't beat the SEC AND the umps...They ought to lose their ump licence over that!!!
Championship F***ing game and you miss that ?!?!
-
Re: Mississippi State Game 1 (Sunday Night)
And all of the sudden those low pitches are strikes in the bottom of the inning. Hmmmmm.

Well, the good news is with MSU up 2-0 the ump doesn't have to keep squeezing home plate on our pitcher.
